  1. Moves like these started since last year, the Happ deal, the Snider deal, Thames deal (not saying they were really bad) those looked like indicators to AA panicking, now the same thing is happening...on a much more radical scale.
  2. Exactly this. I'd be down to take a flyer on Javier Vazquez though, since Oswalt isn't an option. However to fatcow, HELL NO on Pavano, they guy just isn't good. Can you imagine his atrocious HR rates playing full time at the Rogers Centre?
  3. Glen Perkins is a pretty cool guy. Eh, strikes guys out, likes math and doesn't afraid of anything. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/qa-glen-perkins-a-twin-his-fip-and-math/
  4. I saw happ type trade and shuddered
  5. Oh yeah, add Mark Wholers to the list, never was the same after the 1996 WS when he gave up the game tying home run to Leyritz in gsme 4
  6. That could be it, in addition to some horrible pitch selection, I guess those would go hand-in-hand.
  7. How about Darryl Kile? He did more that just fall off the map unfortunately.
  8. PNC Park is the only MLB stadium I've been to other than RC, I can never enjoy the RC again. The sightlines in and around the park are awesome.
  9. Yup Fatcow's official title should say GDT-artisté. In other news....go jays go! Matt Moore: regression to the mean?
  10. I can't f***ing stand math...besides sabremetrics. Get that s*** outta here.
  11. I hate to talk about this kinda thing but that feeling you get that it's over when a guy steps into the 9th inning. I've been getting that with Casey for the past year now, especially since the start of this year. It's not a matter of if he closes out the game, it's how.
  12. ITT: Half the discussion about trolls and the other half about preliminary math. Exciting.
  13. As far as a hitter's haven is concerned yes, but the dry air doesn't seem to affect his HR totals against him.
  14. He's a safety pick at this point IMO.
  15. He's pitching in Nevada right now. Stats are pretty good, averages 7 and a third inning per start. http://www.nevadawolfpack.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/braden_shipley_756500.html
  16. Maybe cause his control is no sure thing. Kyle Drabek is a prime example of this. Is he just throwing strikes or actually spotting his pitches? Doesn't need to be said that he's facing A ball hitters. That's such a ridiculously huge margin of talent below the ML.
  17. Maybe cause his control is no sure thing. We haven't
  18. If Sanchez keeps up the great walk rate....fap. I also like that he's also kept his K rate up at the same time.
  19. Overpaid veteran in the decline of his career. Amaro will sign that deal right after he cleans up the mess in his pants. Forget Halladay though, he's damaged goods at this point.
  20. Yup, his K rate actually went DOWN after he struck out the first time.
  21. Fun fact: Colby has now struck out in 41% of his PA's. lol?
