  1. That would be great if he actually gets a shot and sticks there, add some extra up-the-middle talent.
  2. It's confusing to me, because they sound like completely different hitters. Thames is a free swinger, and Smith is a patient, spray hitter. Disclaimer, I'm going off scouting reports and what I've seen from Thames.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/miguel-cabreras-ridiculousplate-coverage/ The article's nice and the .gif here is the sexiest one I've ever seen, if someone can put it here that'd be great. I'm too retarded to know how to embed them here.
  4. He's really that impatient? Or is he Eric Thames with more walks?
  5. Outside of Blake Swihart the Red Sox tend to draft college players. They do a half-decent job of it as well. So not sure if they'll go after Frazier with their pick if he's available. I can see them going after Jonathon Crawford, Peterson or Moran. Plus a little side note, for an offensive catcher, Swihart's not really setting the Carolina league on fire, his K/BB rates are pretty good though.
  6. I never once implied that he would, you did ask me his upside, I gave it to you. Indeed it isn't, and if Knecht and Crouse have shown anything is that weaknesses get horribly exposed with better pitching. Hopefully Smith's refinement holds up thru higher levels. f*** me, I'm starting to sound more and more like Greenwood. lol
  7. I think Smith's ceiling is a 1st division starter personally, if I guy can hit nearly .300 with a good plate discipline and above average power, you don't see guys like that on the bench on top-tier teams. Furthermore, I've yet to see one scouting report of him being a butcher in a corner outfield spot, granted he's not a fast runner, but I really don't think this organization undervalues athleticism, god forbid that I hope that the org keeps one of the few guys with a promising hit tool. Also, I'm not s***ing on Davis, I'm pointing out the fact that so many times hitting prospects reach higher levels, when they suddenly find they can't hit a decent curveball. You'll find it out that proximity to the majors is a thing.
  8. Reported for using bleacherreport
  9. Only one guy there you listed has actually hit the ball consistently throughout his minor league career and as you know, Pillar's age/level issue has been beaten to death. Lol, I know you like Anderson, but aside from a good 3 weeks, he has been terrible, Gose can do everything but hit, Davis is even further away than Smith and Alford....lol. I agree Smith's ceiling isn't as high as someone like Davis' or Gose, but Smith continues to hit well, a prospect which this system lacks badly. What good is upside if you can't reach it?
  10. So Dwight Smith is having a lovely start to his year. Which to me has gone rathee unnoticed to many. His power looks like it could improve, but Jesse Goldberg-Strassler said that: "his swing was quick, using all fields and patient approach at the plate." I fully expect AA to trade him by the deadline.
  11. I just saw Manny Machado has 20 doubles already. Good lord...
  12. I have a strong feeling that IronLadle is related to Arencibia some way, or a horny broad who wants to be ravaged by him.
  13. And Perez actually knows how to catch.
  14. JPA's refusal to take constructive criticism to improve his game suggests to me that he lacks TWTW. Hawk would be so disappointed.
  15. I would ROFL if the Astros took Moran 1st overall. Like holy s***. Someone like Frazier or even Stewart would make loads of more sense.
  16. I would ROFL if the Astros took Moran 1st overall. Like holy s***. Someone like Frazier or even Stewart would make loads of more sense.
  17. Meadows was never believed to be a 1st overall pick, let alone a consensus one...
  18. It would be utterly hilarious if J.P. sees this on twitter and gets his jimmies rustled.
  19. I'll do my part, but I won't win cause I'm simply not funny.
  20. He set the GCL HR record in 2011. Other than that, he was in Bluefield last year. Now I have no clue where the f*** he is. No big deal, he had power and nothing else.
  21. Brando I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but words cannot describe how f***ing terrible he looked when I saw him. Both at third and at the plate.
  22. It wouldn't make sense to piggyback Stroman, he's had a history of larger workload during college, and he's already been going through extended Spring Training.
