  1. Pretty aggressive ranking for O'Connor.
  2. I don't see how giving a top 10 payroll isn't going all the way, Rogers isn't the problem. It's like putting a hand near a flame, "I got burned once, it hurt, I don't want to get near that again."
  3. I think Kawasaki without the hilarious insanity would be a better comp.
  4. I doubt that debacle actually had an influence on AA making moves or not.
  5. I definitely know where you're coming from, but in the worst case scenario, Ogando, and Beachy are all still available, granted, they have injury concerns, but would still be available by mid-season should that come to pass. Travis would be much harder to replace, Izturis is pure garbage, and the Jays have nothing after that. Same with Pompey, but at least Saunders could slide over and a Pillar/Dirks platoon could be replacement level.
  6. The bullpen pieces I'm not really worried about, they can be easily replaced, rotation to a lesser extent. It's Pompey and Travis that worry me more.
  7. Yeah but does he have soft hands?
  8. Looks like Alford? He be training with Kali muscle in jail.
  9. Wow King, I'm pleasantly shocked you didn't find a picture of all of them shirtless in one photo.
  10. I don't know about that. I see some man boobs
  11. I wouldn't get carried away now. I'll just stick 24 year old mid rotation guy and that is a really good thing.
  12. Even though I agree... That's like saying Flying Monkey>Coors Regardless, I'd rather drink the piss of a dude with bladder cancer than drink Coors. I can tolerate Molson if there's nothing else.
  13. Do you know what subtlety is?
  14. forget the dogg, just sic raysjays on them (same person? probably)
  15. Latos and Gio both fit that bill at the time.
  16. I was wondering when I'd see a Chuck Norris reference.
  17. Not sure the Jays did offer d'Arnaud for Latos, but I can't find any confirmation what the Jays actually offered the Padres.
  18. Considering that AA balked on two deals that specifically requested Syndergaard as a main piece (Gonzalez and Latos) he certainly had opportunities to spend his prospects in a better manner. d'Arnaud is certainly a question, and an injury risk. But I would still choose him over a lot of other catchers in the league, despite the injury risk, like I said in my original reply, he's shown to hold his own and there's a very reasonable chance he'll improve.
  19. Yes, I can and will damn the s*** out of it, because it was not a calculated risk in the slightest, there were younger, cheaper and better pitchers that you could've traded those guys for, so I can't respect that. That was not a golden opportunity, that was just a dumn excuse to spend prospect value (that could've landed a legitimate ace) in a stupid fashion. As for d'Arnaud, a 25 year old catcher who's shown he can hit AND defend has a ton of value, even if his bat declines, certainly much less a question mark than a pitcher. Also, a smart GM wouldn't offer him a huge contract, probably a cheap one that would buy out his FA years, unless his last name was say, Trout or Stanton.
  20. I've dealt with people whom had schizophrenia that made more sense than that guy.
  21. Hey, Baltimore's not that bad a city anymore, the crime rates gone down, only 200 people were killed last year, that's still more than all Ontario combined, but...improvement!
  22. Regardless of how well both those guys do relative to Dickey, the trade will remain a terrible one, if Syndergaard was to be traded, he could've landed Gio Gonzalez the year before, or Mat Latos, or any younger, cost-controlled starter. The point was he and d'Arnaud had trade value, and both pieces went to a single starter who by all reasonable accounts wasn't projected to be as good as he was when he won the Cy Young. As for d'Arnaud being a question mark: ********, he had a 103 wRC+ with decent defense and plus framing. And he's projected for 3 WAR compared to Dickey's 1.5, and at a much lower price point. There's simply no way you can spin this as a good trade. Even if Syndergaard's arm blows out and d'Arnaud gets Ebola.
  23. I remember the good old days when Greenwood would s*** on him on a semi-regular basis. Dinger, no need to worry about that so far I've never seen him gone on a religious tirade. If he's anti-anything, at least he keeps that s*** to himself. Most importantly he's good at baseball, what a guy does with himself in his spare time is usually all good.
