  1. Don't go straight into WAR, look at how it's calculated, take a bottom up approach, understand how offensive stats are calculated, then look at defensive stats are calculated, then you understand why a certain player's WAR is why it is. Wax on, wax off grasshopper.
  2. If my wife burns the enchiladas one more time...
  3. The time you save driving to downsview instead of Wilson is worth it, it takes about 4-5 minutes in between stations.
  4. There's nothing borderline about it. I'll shamelessly admit it.
  5. Wow, even Phillies fans are so ashamed of him they removed him from Wikipedia.
  6. Miggy is tied with him right now
  7. Longest for a Bluejay, not even close in general. Stan the Man was an all-star in every year in his career except 1945 Ichiro was a all-star for every year except 2010, and let's not even start with Jeter.
  8. Slightly more AB's for JD, Donaldson has the slightly higher ISO, and I think, the ticket is the higher baserunning runs attributed to Donaldson, not just stolen bases, but ability to go first to third->home, second to home, not getting thrown out, etc....
  9. Former Jays' farmhand and all around cool guy David Rollins pitched out of the bullpen for Seattle, perfect appearance with a couple K's. He signed my hat and we talked a bit before his start when he played in Lansing. He's useful as a good long man out of the pen who can strike guys out a decent clip and doesn't wall many.
  10. Noah Syndergaard: 3.38 (3.10 xFIP) Aaron Sanchez: 3.55 (4.54 xFIP) LMAO @ ltbf
  11. Gotta make sure the pitcher's precious feelings aren't hurt.
  12. Why on earth would you look at the comments on the Jays' facebook page? Spare your hair.
  13. I just rewatched his start, every pitch, all I could think was, holy s***, he was set up to fail, terrible framing by Navarro, and almost every AB, there was a solid strike he threw that was called a ball. The homeruns Moreland and Odor hit came off 3-1 counts where he basically grooved a fastball. Liked him though, basically Beuhrle with a decent fastball.
  14. I didn't even have to check the score to know if the Jays won, all I had to see was if the gameday thread was under 20 pages.
  15. I wasn't aware that the process of physical development made your command worse. Secondly, you're strawman of "the stats nerds are getting nervous because Sanchez had 4 good starts because it was all luck" uh no, we have to kick people like you down a notch because you're proclaiming that Sanchez has magically found his control, 4 decent starts is good and all, but the fact remains is that his stats still are terrible and he's gotta keep this up to convince lots of people on the board that you can throw out all his minor league experience where he's shown a lack of ability to throw strikes and miss bats.
  16. What about the 300 innings of the minors when his walk rates were 5 per 9?
  17. Ruben Amaro fired? I would be amused and disappointed at the same time.
  18. I'd rather keep the fluoride for oral hygiene thanks.
  19. You think that now, just go east of the I-90 onto main street and you'll think you're in Detroit.
  20. I'm gonna hold my breath on lawrie continuing his batting line when his peripherals are atrocious and his BABIP is insanely high. (his xBABIP is .321) Holy f*** run-on sentence. Olerud must be rubbing off on me.
