  1. For sure. This team still has holes, but our weapons are so strong that it masks it somewhat. When Reyes returns, this is going to be one interesting lineup.
  2. Lind has been a great surprise this year and by the looks of his approach, I think he will continue to be a strong weapon in our lineup. That being said, many thought Lawrie would take a step forward and that hasn't happened yet, so its somewhat of a wash (although Lind is performing better offensively than what most probably expected out of Lawrie). Adding Reyes will give this lineup 4 well above average bats in Reyes, Bautista, EE and Lind, not counting Rasmus who has been pretty good overall as well. If Melky gets going, this lineup will be that much better. I think Reyes comes back this weekend, but if not, then probably at the beginning of next week.
  3. How is AA a moron for not admitting defeat? This team has been playing great lately and now has positioned themselves to possibly play some meaningful games down the stretch. He would have been a moron for panicking early but he didn't. As much as I disagree with some things AA has done, he has also done a lot of things right.
  4. What amazes me is at this point some people still think the Jays are out of it. When they were 11 games under a case could be made that it was too big of a hurdle, but now only 2 games under, still in June and only 4.5 games back of a WC spot, this team is in the race. We all knew this team was better than what they played early on and now they are proving that to be true. Lets go for the sweep tonight.
  5. No votes for JPA?? This cannot be right.
  6. Oh I agree, and I would be thrilled if that happened.
  7. Your right. Every SP is different and some more durable than others. All we can do is ride this out and deal with whatever happens when it does.
  8. This team is built as of this moment to potentially win a ton of games during the regular season. Come post season, this team doesn't look as good unless a couple SP really step up and pitch like aces.
  9. I agree. We can't count on Morrow to ever pitch a full season it seems, JJ will likely be gone, and who knows if Romero ever gets back to the bigs. That just leaves 3 guys in Dickey, Buehrle and Happ who look like they will be in the rotation mix for next season (not counting Rogers or Wang). Plus Wang is a FA after this season as well. We also will have Hutch but he may need some more time in the minors next season before he is ready after coming off injury.
  10. The interesting part is that Wang and Rogers have both looked good. It would be foolish to expect both will continue like this, but it might not be so foolish to think one or both may stick as decent 4/5 types. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. As of right now the rotation seems like it is in decent shape and we have Happ working his way back.
  11. Hopefully its something where he can still come back for the last couple months when this team may need a big boost.
  12. If Philly picks up some of the salary maybe. Lee is owed $25M for 2014 and 2015 and has an option for 2016 @ $27M with a $12.5M buyout. The option becomes guaranteed if he reaches 200IP in 2015 or 400IP in 2014 & 2015. That is a lot of salary for one player. I just don't think its realistic unless Rogers promises like $50M more towards payroll.
  13. I think if he does go after a SP it will be someone who is under contract for 2014 as well, or he may look to extend as part of a deal. I don't think he would risk more prospects and then have that SP and JJ walk.
  14. So in other words, last place.
  15. If this team continues to win AA will be looking to add to this team, if we don't he may sell off a couple of expiring contracts.
  16. If this team can get league average SP the rest of the way they will win a ton of games with that offense (which will only get strong in the coming days when Reyes returns) and pen.
  17. I concur. Of all the past baseball people I have met Gaston was the worst.
  18. Well if Morrow does get shut down for the year then AA may be looking to acquire another big arm by the deadline unless Wang/Rogers secure their spots over the next few weeks.
  19. "A runner can assist another runner as long as he did not score or was already put out. A runner can actually carry a teammate around the bases." Love to see this, LOL.
  20. Not really. When I look at this teams record and where they sit after such a horrid start to the season, I am quite pleased. Since the 10-21 start the Jays have gone 24-15. This team has a chance to play some meaningful baseball in August/September if they keep this up.
