  1. The more I think about it, the more I agree you are correct. At first I would have liked to keep Kawasaki up, but he has options and we probably shouldn't mess with the pen at all right now. Kawasaki would provide some nice insurance in AAA as well.
  2. I disagree. If they go 5-5 over the next 10 its not over by any means. If they lose 7 or 8 then yeah it starts to get overwhelmingly unlikely, but the fact that they are only 7 games back at this point is a great thing with all things considered.
  3. What's your point? I know everyone has their own opinions and I stated mine. As for people being invested in this team, well I haven't missed a single game yet this season and have already attended 8 games, I would call that heavily invested. I just choose not to be unrealistic. According to many on this board we have already played like 50 do or die games, yet here we are.
  4. It's amazing how many people think every game is do or die. Sure this is a very important game because it could be the game that gets us to .500 and its against a division rival, but we still have 91 games and are only 7 games back of the division. People need to f***ing relax. Lets just take it 1 game at a time from this point and enjoy the ride. This team is looking more and more like it could rise to the top. Lets keep this streak going.
  5. If Romero can pitch solid overall for 10+ starts in the minors then I think he becomes an option for injury replacement. Right now we have 4 guys in our rotation that should be able to give us innings and then Rogers who at some point is going to max out of he sticks in the rotation. He pitched 110 total innings (majors and minors) in 2011 and 78.2 innings last season. Not sure what his max will be but he may need to be shut down at some point. Who knows whats going to happen with Morrow and Happ may be ready around the ASB. So it looks like Romero could quickly move right behind Happ or even pass him on the depths charts if he can get his s*** together over his next 8-10 starts.
  6. LOL that is hilarious.
  7. LOL that was hilarious.
  8. Because this team may very well need him for the rest of the season. He has pitched well and they need to keep rolling him out there until he proves otherwise.
  9. I would say they are in the thick of things right now.
  10. Sure they have a point, but when a team is expected to contend and has players who are performing you can't just give players an infinite amount of time to figure it out. Romero had an entire season and a spring and he looked like s***. I hope he can work his way back, but while this team is expected to contend there is no room to allow players to figure things out at the big league level.
  11. I think some just get blinded by the raw talent and forget that players actually have to perform as well.
  12. There were a few regulars for sure which I can recall. The same guys who thought I was crazy for suggesting Happ make the team over Romero.
  13. I remember when a lot of people were predicting Romero would be better than Buehrle this year and that Buehrle would be nothing more than a #5 coming to the ALE. Look how that turned out.
  14. At this point I think the Jays are out of "the must win games/series". People are just going way to far with this bad start stuff. The Jays are only 1 game under .500 and still 91 games left to play. Only 7.5 games back of the division and 5 games back of the wild card. This team just needs to play solid ball the rest of the way and things will take care of themselves. That being said, I have confidence in this team and I expect them to win this series. The win streak will continue.
  15. I'm not disputing that they shouldn't have called him up, but the fact is he was already broken and the delivery change was an attempt to fix him. Terrible idea to call him up, but at the end of the day, Romero had an entire season to fix himself and he couldn't.
  16. His failures are his own, not the organizations. Romero s*** the bed all last season, s*** the bed during the spring, didn't understand why he didn't make the opening day roster and then he s*** the bed again when he got his chance. I agree that he shouldn't have been called up so soon but the organization gave him a hell of a lot more rope then he deserved to fix things and he didn't. Most of the blame falls on Ricky not the organization.
  17. What would a guy like Utley cost?
  18. Lets see 10-15 starts and then evaluate him from there. Hopefully he can keep this up and give us some added depth.
  19. 7.5 games out of the division and 4.5 out of the WC.
