  1. Angels lineup looks pretty s***** overall. Jays need to get this to a 6 game win streak tonight.
  2. Rogers is exactly the guy you want to use in a blowout.
  3. Yup. That's the sad part, this lineup just needs 'decent' pitching, not great pitching on a nightly basis with this lineup to win. Hopefully Dickey can get into the 7th and give the pen another short night of work.
  4. Lol I was just thinking the same thing. Jays need to get this streak to 5 games tonight.
  5. Realistically you are correct, he is third on the depth chart right now and I don't see that changing unless one of the other two get hurt.
  6. An upgrade is an upgrade. It's a two year deal and it's looking like an undervalued contract thus far. I can't see any reason to complain about this.
  7. Yup. It's just the nature of the business. What should happen and what will happen are likely not the same.
  8. Yeah I don't get why Ken keeps bringing his weight up. Sure he is in terrible shape, but he has been a sizeable upgrade, no pun intended. It's not like we're committed to him long term anyways. It's a bargain contract that right now is looking like a steal.
  9. Sure but if they are in a position to contend and he does nothing that may get him fired anyways. If they contend as a result of further gutting the farm ownership will only see that the team contended. If they make the playoffs, he likely bought himself several more years as GM.
  10. That's the problem. Right now how can we get rid of anyone? It's a nice problem to have, but it's really screwing up the bench.
  11. Ideally I like Francisco off the bench. He would likely see plenty of playing time through the rest of the season as a PH and backup 1B/3B. He would play 3B during inter-league games, and would be a nice insurance option if any of Lawrie, Lind (should be back anytime now) or EE hit the DL. Plus if you go with a glove guy at 2B Francisco would see a lot of PH duties late in games.
  12. Under this scenario, we could go with a glove first guy at 2B and just PH for him late in games. That bench would get utilized quite well I think.
  13. Honestly, he is exactly the type of bat we needed off our bench and while his D leaves much to be desired he can cover 3B and 1B when needed as well as obviously DH. The problem right now is that we have 3 catchers on the roster. That needs to come down to two and then bring Gose back up as the primary OF backup, pinch runner, etc. A bench of Francisco, Gose, Kratz and Kawasaki is the way I would go when everyone is healthy. We cover all positions on the field, have two power bats and a SB threat. It gives us 3 lefties vs. only one righty, but I can live with that for the time being.
  14. Where does Francisco fit in? He has likely guaranteed himself a spot for the first half now in AA's mind. They brought it up on the broadcast to DL Navarro when Lind comes back since he clearly isn't 100% and it seems likely IMO. I think we will now see a revolving door of DL stints for even the most minor injuries just so AA doesn't have to let anyone go.
  15. And I remember when AA was thought of amongst the best GM's in baseball.
  16. Interesting, they started off with the better GM.
  17. I tend to agree. It's a tough call though because the offence Francisco could provide is significantly more but you weaken the D at two positions in the process.
