This is some funny s*** the Mets weakened their own leverage.

BA write up on both guys. Anthony Kay, LHP Age: 24 The Mets' first-round pick in 2016, Kay didn't pitch after signing due to an elbow injury and missed all of 2017 after having Tommy John surgery. He returned last year and has flown up the system, reaching Triple-A this year in just his second season on the mound. Kay is a power lefthander with a fastball that sits at 93 mph and regularly reaches 95-96 mph. He complements his fastball with a curveball he can land to both sides of the plate and a changeup that plays well against righthanded hitters with sink at the bottom of the zone. Kay's arsenal is that of a mid-rotation starter or better, but his control and command are inconsistent and make him a back-end starter in the eyes of most evaluators. He is nearly major league ready and could make his debut this year. Simeon Woods-Richardson, RHP Age: 18 The Mets' second-round pick last year, Woods-Richardson made his full-season debut this year and earned raves from scouts as one of the best pitchers in the low Class A South Atlantic League despite a pedestrian 4.25 ERA. Woods-Richardson is a 6-foot-3 power righthander who pounds the strike zone with his power arsenal. His four-seam fastball reaches 95-96 mph and his cutter sits at 92 mph, giving him two hard offerings to front his four-pitch mix. His 12-to-6 breaking ball has hard downward action and shows the potential to be an impact pitch, and his changeup flashes average. Woods-Richardson struggles leaving the ball up and gets hit as a result sometimes, but evaluators feel he could be an impact starter once he learns to work the edges of the strike zone. He earns wide praise for his fearless, bulldog mentality on the mound and aggressiveness in attacking hitters.

If you're looking at mlb pipeline I think they should take over 5 and 6

No quite what I was expecting but this is a good trade. Kay reminds me a lot of Borucki with a wicked curve and SWR will be a top 100 prospect soon.

That rules out Banda and De Leon.

They wanted Sogard to get some production out of their leadoff spot, Galvis doesn't really help that.

I would bet anything Urena is coming first then Bichette after the deadline.

O'Brien + would be unreal. I'm expecting someone like Anthony Banda or Jose De Leon.

The Twins trade is so strange. The Marlins gave up a MLB asset and a good young arm to get Lewin Diaz who seems to be figuring things out this year but will need to be protected on the 40 man roster.

Not happening man, even in the PCL what Lux is doing is insane.

They don't "have" to deal Stroman, the guy is literally screaming out he wants an extension and wants to stay in Toronto. With how absolute dog s*** the rotation is with little help on the way they absolutely can sign him to a new deal. I'm very much on the side of hold out to get exactly what you want and if not just extend him. I'm sure there is some posturing there from the Jays but I would in no way rule out an extension. Hell we're paying Grichuk $11 Million for the next 4 years and he's not even good.

From what the Twins execs are saying, it doesn't sound like they are going to make big trades right now.

Yea my thoughts exactly, he'll start this and probably be done until the deadline.

I'm expecting 1 inning stints like Williams.

To me there is too much uncertainty to pull the trigger early unless we're blown away. The way the NL is shaping up just play it out to the deadline.

Stick to your guns, someone will get desperate close to the deadline. There's not that many good arms available this year.
