    Has any big contract handed out to a player 30 and over actually worked out good? I wouldn't even offer him that and just wait till free agency next year and pony up more money for a younger better player.

    Man would I love to watch Stanton get 81 games at the Rogers center. If we could get him without giving up our top prospects would be pretty sweet.

    In reality regular season means nothing at this point. Any team can get hot and go on a heater. When it comes down to it Kershaw isn't his dominate self in the playoffs, Wood started to struggle could be a bit to many innings for him and Darvish didn't look unhittable when he came over. Again though anyone of those pitchers could get hot in a second. This is anyones series these two teams aren't that far off. If you wanna throw regular season numbers out there. Cubs were barely .500 in the middle of the season and ended up with 92 wins.

    Manfred said he will have a close eye on any negotations that go on. Don't ask me how he plans on stopping a deal where he is extended later but Manfred seemed pretty confident that he could.
