  1. 1. Angels bullpen: The Angels could have a great team, a World Series contender. But they must solve their bullpen between now and Aug. 31, either through trades or internal solutions. Among all the teams contending, this is probably the most glaring hole, the fix most needed. 2. New York Yankees rotation: They're three games out in the AL East and one game out in the wild-card race as they open a series against the Red Sox, and their rotation ranks 21st in the majors in ERA. 3. Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop: They need an experienced alternative to Hanley Ramirez in case they determine that Ramirez's shoulder issue will linger. 4. Seattle Mariners outfield: The Mariners are in the thick of the AL wild-card race, but they need a hitter. 5. Oakland Athletics rotation: The A's need depth, and they'll get it. 6. Detroit Tigers bullpen: Tony Paul draws up a helpful list of 25 relievers who could interest the Tigers.
  2. I'm willing to upgrade my projection to as high as 88 wins Feels just about right. The schedule in September is BRUTAL. 90+ wins is hard to fathom. Whether we make the playoffs depends on, IMHO: 1. Orioles and Yankees performance in the second half 2. Team health (especially Bautista, Lawrie and the starting pitching staff) 3. Whether AA does anything at by the trade deadline or not
  3. Yeah even a Tampa/Baltimore split over 4 games would be great. But that offensive matchup there is devastatingly in favour of the O's.
  4. Time to pad the lead folks We get 4 games vs the White Sox (winning less than 3/4 unnaceptable and we already took the opener) Meanwhile our rivals all play each other! Tampa vs Baltimore double header today and Boston @ New York Yankees I want to end this weekend with at least an extra 1.5-2.0 games of a lead. This is one of those times you have to get it done. Can't spin your wheels. Go Jays!
  5. Reyes (3pts) - Melky (3pts) - Eddy (1pt) - Lind? (2pts) - Rasmus (2pts) - Navarro (5pts) - G-Snarls Juan? (2pts) - Tolleson (7pts) - Gose (8pts) - Kawasaki (12pts!) - Glenn (7pts) - Thole (9pts) -

  7. Happ making it hard for AA to decide if he needs to go hard for a starter or not
  8. . An average baserunner would have scored easily on the play. Was a bad call by Rivera sending him. The white Sox defense has been absolutely atrocious. Lots of other gaffes too including a bad throw by Moises Sierra.
  9. How is this too long? He's throwing 96 and getting people out I presume you would have complained anyway if he HADN'T sent Happ back out. You seem like that kind of guy.
  10. Crap! And yes Could go 8 full innings depending on how this next batter goes
  11. The Navarro almost inside the park home run! But he got thrown out going for it after Rivera waved him home
  12. Yeah it's all about how he goes after guys when he gets 2 strikes on them Bad Happ can't put them away
  13. No. It's by recollection. Could be wrong. His first sting of good starts seemed to coincide with Kratz catching him. Would have to separate out his stats. And he's been good with Navarro tonight
  14. It was We just have to win the game or we will turn sour
  15. It will only remain funny, of course, if we win this game
  16. Lay of the year. Hahahahahahahahaha. Will need a GOF of that
