  1. Just came here to post this If he can figure how to use his stuff better he could be a killer setup guy or a good swing man
  2. Like how AA didn't want Farrell to play Hech and kill his trade value??
  3. Morrow and Delabar once looked like such steals from the Mariners that I wondered if Jack Z might stop dealing with AA But things have changed
  4. Yes. The value proposition of the Marlins trade was never good. But the talent infusion looked incredible. JJ and Boni wrecked the dream though.
  5. For the record I'm absolutely fine with filling our 4th OF/ RHB DH platoon mate via the waiver wire. I'm happy we got Reimold. But that infield requires a more significant upgrade/investment
  6. This off season was the time to get him, and many on here mentioned his name repeatedly.
  7. For fear of rehashing I'm actually still OK with the Marlins trade. Not the results but the premise. Johnson and Bonifacio and Alvarez make it look way worse in retrospect of course. But I have no problem that he did the trade. We should have kept Synd and TDA or traded them for someone better though Also the failure to land second tier free agents like Sanchez and Santana also sucks and meant he felt obliged to trade for Dickey. Pretty major fail on all fronts. I'm also pissed that all he did this off season was improve catcher. Not 2B or the starting rotation. Another fail.
  8. No. I'd rather have good players who can play 150+ games per year and not have to live off platoons.
  9. And not even good enough for any Blue Jays "platoons" LOL
  10. Another priceless Amado Jr quote there
  11. Phillies Notes: Offense, Franco, Papelbon, Burnett, Lee By*Steve Adams*[July 8, 2014 at 11:18am CDT] Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. offered a frank assessment of his team’s offense*to reporters, including CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury: “I didn’t anticipate our guys being this poor. Because they are. They are this poor. We think that they’re better. But they haven’t shown it. So at some point we’re going to have to make some changes.” Amaro listed*Darin Ruf,*Grady Sizemore*and*Freddy Galvis*as possible players who could be recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and he wouldn’t rule out top prospect*Maikel Franco*either. When referring to Franco, he noted that Franco can also play first base, indicating perhaps that the struggling* Ryan Howard*could see his playing time diminish.Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reminds*that last season, one of the reasons Amaro gave for not wanting to shop*Jonathan Papelbon*was a lack of a clear replacement. That excuse is no longer valid, Gelb writes, due to the emergence of*Ken Giles. The 23-year-old Giles has dominated Major League hitters in his first 11 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with 17 strikeouts. Papelbon, who is pitching as well as he ever has in a Phillies uniform, could be moved if the Phils kick in $13MM to cover his potential vesting option, Gelb opines.ESPN’s Jim Bowden*(Insider subscription required)*feels that the Orioles are the most logical landing place*for*A.J. Burnett*in a trade. Bowden writes that while Pittsburgh and Cleveland make some sense, both are long shots. He also speculates on what it would cost each team to acquire Burnett. Cliff Lee*is now slated to return after the All-Star break because one of his rehab outings was delayed by rain,*according to a report from ESPN’s Jayson Stark. Stark has previously reported that rival clubs expect the Phillies to aggressively shop Lee upon his return, though with a July 19 return target, he’d only have roughly three starts to impress.
  12. Agree The ass is falling out of 'er pretty quickly
  13. Love the term "hose" and that you know what it means.
  14. I don't think any move we can make with the current 40 man roster helps us play any better than. 400 baseball at best. We're screwed. I'm sorry but we are. Should we try and do the best we can? Yes. Gillespie should not be here. Colby should play every day and he needs to step the f*** up. Kratz should be up. AA needs to land an infielder like Prado or Hadley immediately and reassess the pitching situation in a week or two. But this all feels like it's going nowhere good.
  15. Yeah High85 was annoying as Hell He was eventually outed as an alternate account of Lee_Marv1n (by FatcowXLive or GD - who was it?) and outed in real life as a guy named Jarvis by Ju1ced (Admin) Crazy times
  16. Seemed to feel something wrong during warmup for the inning. Called the trainer and Scocia pulled him immediately as if he'd been half expecting it.
  17. Oh, it is sad. Glad to have lots of quality members, yourself included, these days
  18. Oh f*** off. Dammit. Stupid Orioles goddammit.
  19. I'd like to laugh at this but our offense has been equally inept as of late
