  1. Yeah I've changed my mind 180 degrees too Hutch, Dickey and Happ all make me nervous, albeit in vastly different ways A Shields or Price would be sweet right about now. But will not hold breath.
  2. Well, Price = 1.4 seasons + possiblity of draft pick, Lester = 0.4 seasons and no draft pick
  3. Not sure if serious He just had 9 days off before his last start
  4. AA didn't say anything except that he's making his next start But my gut says 2-3 more bad starts and it's to the DL or Buffalo with him Come on Hutch, turn it around... we need you!
  5. Potential Potential Potential Potential potential
  6. GeorgiaPeach = Gibbers on the old board
  7. I only ever heard out for season
  8. I know what you mean. I really don't think it's him (I don't think you honestly do either) but I see your point. Gibbers used to rage and fight a lot and now he (by his on admission) deliberately stays out of conflicts. Good on him. But he is someone I can imagine wishing he had an alternate account to rage with sometimes. But stylistically he is so different, and Gibbers comes here in small visits. Moogy lives here. No way it's him.
  9. You're probably. I never know whose WAR to trust. I look at both at various times. Though also I'm less sure about how valid WAR is for pitchers (and possibly catchers) is too. For most position players I've bought in to it fully, but for pitchers I'm just less sure it really reflects their full value. IYKWIM. Even if pitcher fWAR is gospel, the point is still valid - 1 win or less between Happ and those other guys. caveat: SO FAR THIS SEASON. Cause I'd still rather have Santana than Happ for the rest of the year at this point.
  10. It hurts less if you get to go to ALCS games in Toronto
  11. Reyes (3pts) - Melky (3pts) - baseballsss Bautista (1pt) - Dylan Navarro (4pts) - Colby "f***IN" Rasmus (2pts) - Spanky99 Kawasaki (9pts) - Johnson (7pts) - G-Snarls Juan (2pts) - Gose (8pts) - Goins (9pts) - Bench (10pts) -
  12. Today's lineup: 1. Jose Reyes (S) SS 2. Melky Cabrera (S) LF 3. Jose Bautista ® RF 4. Dioner Navarro (S) C 5. Dan Johnson (L) DH 6. Munenori Kawasaki (L) 3B 7. Juan Francisco (L) 1B 8. Ryan Goins (L) 2B 9. Anthony Gose (L) CF
  13. Well that's just it. AA was counting on Morrow, but not sounting on Stroman. It worked out anyway. He still SHOULD have signed Santana IYAM with the knowledge that Happ was probably going to be mediocre and Morrow not be reliable. But that non-signing hasn't hurt us the way the IF situation has.
  14. Disagree with every single thing you say here Stroman having a couple bad weeks in the pen during his MLB debut does not mean he could never be good in the pen And he's been a GOOD starter And his attitude might make him better than his stuff would suggest. Fearlessness is good for a pitcher.
  15. Even if he can hit .250-.260 with an OBP .320-.330 ish (which I think he can) I want him on the team as our primary backup for 2B/SS even if AA gets us a new infielder. His defense is good, he's a gamer, plays all-out and everyone likes having him around. Give him Izturis' contract please so we can keep him around
  16. First I was going to say "probably, it depends who" Then I looked up the three guys AA was presumably interested in last off season. And realized that NONE of Garza, Jimenez or Santana would have been an upgrade over Happ, at least to this point, according to WAR. Happ's 0.9 WAR is on par with Santana's, and the other 2 have provided neutral or negative wins for their teams.
  17. Oh boy... was my first thought Then... f*** it. If we fall any further back over the next 2 weeks the season's f***ed anyway. Bring'em back as soon as they feel good enough to play.
  18. Yep AA SHOULD have acquired a good young 2B this off season and should have signed a free agent starter In retrospect, the lack of signing a FA starter hasn't hurt us (yet) but the 2B situation sure has
  19. Sanchez still has the ability/stuff to be the best pitcher in the organization. But he's still a significant gamble due to command issues and could bust Romero-style. Stroman has generally been more projectable as a solid mid-rotation starter and has looked the part IN THE MAJORS for 2 solid months this year The verdict on Sanchez is still at least 2 half seasons away IYAM
  20. I say #2. Which I also believe is the correct thing to do. Don't kill the farm. But still manage to improve the team.
