That's my biggest complaint. Hanging on to out of options fringe guys he just won't accept he has to cut. And worse yet having these guys (Sierra, Rogers, etc) stop him from getting someone better.
Good to read up on some of the front offices I know less about. Some GM's are just notoriously bad and everyone knows it. Others are more quietly incompetent and aren't in the spot light as much often because of the market they're in.
A 3 year deal seems like a decent compromise for both sides.
