  1. They'd probably give us anything we wanted from their farm for Bautista and Buerhle
  2. This man ruined double points day!!! http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/David+Price+Tampa+Bay+Rays+Photo+Day+iVfhk9XRJTMl.jpg
  3. LOL yeah I just dug deeper in the stats and retracted my statement. Looks like he's getting a lot of BABip lucky singles Even his D isn't providing much value it seems.
  4. And I'm all for it if the Phillies provide some salary relief in any deal, or take a s*** contract away like Romero
  5. That's the truth and was also the case for this past off season The only wrong thing to do this off season was to do "little-to-nothing" which was exactly what they did Need to go for it, or pack up go home and try again in a few years. No sense half-assing it.
  6. We should double check this with a stats guy but that sounds like a 100% increase in personnel
  7. Expensive buyouts are stupid 12.5M?!?!?!?! What the f*** Amaro
  8. Cliff Lee 2014 35 Philadelphia Phillies $25,000,000 2015 36 Philadelphia Phillies $25,000,000 2016 37 Philadelphia Phillies *$27,500,000 $27.5M Vesting Option, $12.5M Buyout option becomes guaranteed with 200 IP in 2015 or 400 IP in 2014-15
  9. They look real here http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7yfe5opDD1qbwl0wo1_500.gif
  10. Those calling for a selloff now know it's moot There is ZERO chance AA goes in to sell mode this month. Zero. He SHOULD be gradually trading away aging vets as the opportunity allows (due to what a team might offer for guys or what prospects coming up are blocked) and gradually turning over the roster to younger players. Given enough time he might do this, but it seems quite possible his time is short and it won't happen.
  11. I gather GD is the new scapegoat for most things instead of FatCow? I must have missed the memo.
  12. Agree totally The only guys on this roster probably worth keeping past next season or so are Lawrie, Stroman and Hutch
  13. At everything except turning double plays
  14. A few quick thoughts on why not to sell right now 1. Because it's a rare shot to actually make the playoffs 2. EE, Lawrie and Lind back will plug some holes 3. Surely the bullpen won't keep sucking this bad 4. A decent 2B shouldn't cost a massive prospects package 5. Buerhle will still have trade value this off season if the team doesn't make it
  15. .432 Slugging I don't even want to think about how many guys on our current roster are hitting worse than that (Caveat: I know it's a fluke. He's a career .153 hitter)
  16. I luv pitchers hitting grand slams. I really do. Bumgarnher hitting .275 this season. Higher BA than Michael Morse, Gregor Blanco and Pablo Sandoval. LOL
  17. Madison Bumgarner, Buster Posey both hit grand slams as #Giants beat #Diamondbacks 8-4.
  18. Unless Megan Fox or Selena Gomez is playing I'm not watching it
  19. They were willing to pay Santana, and they were willing to add Kinsler's salary (minus Santos and whoever else's salary was supposedly going to Texas) And I think that's our best option. Trade a modest prospect package for an overpaid but still good player who's under control for 1.5 more years. It's mostly money and doesn't gut the farm. Prado please. AA's not selling in July. Absolutely no way.
  20. Yep. Price is better than Stroman and Hutch, but not 20M vs 0.5M better.
  21. Rays want to compete again next year. They would want some of those prospects for sure, but we aren't getting guys like those without giving up a cost controlled major leaguer like Lawrie or Hutchison. Especially if we want BOTH Price and Zobrist.
