    Yep Which begs the question... Is anyone willing to trade Edwin this off season and roll with Colabello as primary DH / backup 1B next year? Colabello will be dirt cheap again in 2016 and then has his 3 arb years. The only caveats are that he's 30 years old now. I didn't realize that. I also forgot that Edwin is a FA after next season and is still making very reasonable $ next year (10M) The All-Star break/non-waiver trade deadline would have been the best time to trade Edwin if we were going to. An offense-starved team like the Mets in serious need of a bat might have given up something quite decent for him.

    He's actually a good hitter. It seems like he really truly is. He just can't play any position well.

    In the Twins minor league system Revere had some very good offensive numbers In the majors he has been pretty much league average (annual WAR 1-2) with a career wRC of 85. A lot of his + value was from baserunning.

    Yes. More of the pitches are catching corners of the plate or just outside. Earlier in the year and last year he was mkissing the plate by too much too often. Guys would take way more pitches. Now they can't do that so much.

    Yes, the bullpen is good to go And if we make a playoff series you will have Hutch or Estrada in the pen too

    Somewhat hilariously, Harper and Goldshmitdt lead the NL in WAR by a large margin despite both having very significant negative defensive value. The bats are just that good.

    Harper: .634 slugging 196 wRC+ LOL Holy mother of God what a beast.

    In the NL it's not even close. Harper leads in WAR by a mile. Even if the Nats fail to make the playoffs, he'll still win it because Goldy and the DBacks ain't making the playoffs either.

    To be fair, the Angels fortunes are more dependant on Trout playing well then the Jays on Donadlson playing well. Both are awesome players. But the Angels offense is so much less deep than ours that if Trout goes MIA for a few weeks they could be f***ed. Some writers would use this as reason to give Trout the MVP over Donaldson even if they finished with identical stats.

    Both statistically and emotionally it will come down to who finishes stronger. If one of them carries their team innto the playoffs with a monster September they will win it with an extra 0.5 WAR and the dramatics that sports writers live to write about.

    A reasonably sized minority seem to have major problems with Buck. I don't.

    Agree on all counts Other than occasionally yelling overexcitedly about fly balls that will be caught, and the mis-pronounciations (which are just humorous), he's actually pretty decent Tabler is awful and should have been replaced by Alan Ashby years ago. He should be replaced by Joe Siddall now.
