  1. Rosenthal credibility tweet No details on the return for Cleveland yet...
  2. Fixed that for you
  3. And Boras apparently takes 5% no matter how large or small the contract. So this off season alone will get him approx $50M paid at various rates spread over the next 4-9 seasons
  4. I'm OK with it. Don't love it don't hate it. Jays can't make people take their money, and there's probably a premium required to come here to pitch at the moment vs signing with many other more competitive teams. Lindbolm and Pineda prob wouldn't have signed here for the same $$ they got elsewhere.
  5. I say AA talks him into 3 years 75M plus an option with a 5M buyout. Edit: Which means it prob amounts to exactly the same thing.
  6. Was sure he'd stay with the Yankees. That's a little more money than I thought he'd get.
  7. http://cdn.strategyonline.ca/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Powerade_Pillar0282-1.jpg
  8. Career wRC+ 67 and it just keeps dropping. It was 50 in 2019. Yuck yuck yuck.
  9. I was kidding a bit at the underwhelming choices But yes. Pearson.
  10. So do I replace my Stroman jersey with a Roark or Anderson....
  11. Had to remind myself of his salary status 7 yrs/$260M And he's actually worth every penny
  12. Also I guess the results were made public this morning: ESPN: Uptick in home runs attributed to seam heights and batting techniques, not juiced balls https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28273986/uptick-home-runs-attributed-seam-heights-batting-techniques-not-juiced-balls
  13. It's at the GM meetings in San Diego. I'm sure they'll cover it on MLB TV/radio.
  14. Rawlings and scientists having a press conference this afternoon to discuss their findings from their analysis with respect to the ball and home runs in 2019
  15. Yeah. Maybe it's just a reflection of more of the same that we've seen with position players. Elite guys like Machado and Trout get huge deals and the second and third tier guys get a fraction and much shorter deals. Elite SPs rarely become free agents anymore. Let alone two in one off season like this one.
  16. This is the perfect time to front load a contact if you're Shapiro/Atkins
  17. Also it's a bit funny how many teams stopped paying for starting pitching for a few years and tried to bullpen their way through the playoffs with a mediocre starting rotation. The last couple of years that strategy has failed miserably and now teams are suddenly paying huge $ for starters again. This post season couldn't have been better to highlight the value of having 2 or 3 really good front end starters.
  18. ARod - PEDs Ellsbury - Medical treatments at outside facilities Cole - Too many speeding tickets
  19. If there was time for the Yankees to flex, this was it. Keeping payroll down for a few years. Major need for a front end starter. A stud SP becoming a free agent at age 29. It's funny how the Yankees have almost lulled everyone into thinking they won't spend big $ all over anymore. They will. In the right spots.
  20. Cashman never does emotional signings ever He lets fan favorites walk with no shits given if it's the smart move
  21. Pirates Cause they keep messing up with pitching. At least he was good there too.
  22. I wonder how many pitchers have ever come back to the same team three separate times?
  23. I'm not surprised that Strasburg went back to Washington nor am I surprised at the AAV. I am a bit surprised that they were willing to guarantee 7 years.
  24. Been terrified of Yankees getting Cole Replacing one of their mediocre back end rotation guys is worth so many wins.. and they were already pretty f'n good.
