  1. Mets and Lindor 22.3M Ouch Plus Conforto 12.25 What's their payroll at now?
  2. 0/10 would not bang
  3. Dodgers and Cody Bellinger agree at 16.1M. Pretty good for a 25 year old super 2 arb-2 player. They should get an extension done. He's going to get super expensive anyway with two more years of arbitration.
  4. I'd rather do Springer, one but not both of those starters and either trade for Bryant or sign Didi for 3B
  5. Robert Murray @ByRobertMurray Source: Blue Jays, Teoscar Hernandez settle at $4,325,000, avoiding arbitration.
  6. Robert Murray @ByRobertMurray Source: Blue Jays, Ross Stripling settle at $3 million, avoiding arbitration.
  7. What, like 5/100? Would that have been enough to pry him away?
  8. Only 15M AAV If that's true Yankees are clearly trying to keep payroll down by extending the contract to more years than you would have expected Prob keeps their payroll low enough to re sign Tanaka or get Paxton or Kluber
  9. The first free agent contract I wish the Jays could have signed. But again I suspect he was going back to the Yankees no matter what.
  10. White Sox sign Yoelkis Cespedes
  11. I agree Especially when: You have a glaring need that's hard to fill (front end starter, CF) Getting said player vaults you into serious contention You have a roster full guys likely to offset the balance sheet with positive value
  12. Zero surpsrise that both of these guys re-up with their current teams
  13. Hmmmmm Theo being groomed to be the next commissioner?
  14. Major League Baseball announced today that former Red Sox general manager and Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein has joined the commissioner’s office as a consultant to Rob Manfred. Specifically, Epstein will focus his efforts on “on-field matters,” including (but presumably not limited to) the effects that proposed rule changes would bring about.
  15. Yeah If he's going to be the boss he's gotta make a boss move #likeaboss
  16. Will DH uncertainty impact Mets’ Springer pursuit? Jan. 13: In an appearance on the “Big Time Baseball” podcast this week, Mets president Sandy Alderson told MLB Network insider Jon Heyman that the team is “still engaged, in a loose sense, with Springer.” However, MLB Network insider Joel Sherman thinks the club is unlikely to sign the free-agent center fielder unless it finds out the National League will have the designated hitter in 2021. With the universal DH in 2020, the Mets were able to start both Pete Alonso and Dominic Smith every day. Without it, Smith will need to play left field to keep both in the lineup. Signing Springer would bump Brandon Nimmo to left, removing the option of starting Smith there. On the other hand, Alderson has noted that he isn’t comfortable with Smith playing left field regularly, so it's possible the Mets will have a logjam to deal with at first base regardless of what they do in center field. The DH could clear that up, but an agreement between MLB and the MLB Players Association is required to institute the rule in the Senior Circuit for 2021.
  17. Seems like he'd immediately be in our top 20 prospects?
  18. Anyone with a BA subscription able to share? https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/toronto-blue-jays-2020-21-international-signing-preview/
  19. Starts tomorrow How much IFA money do the Jays have? Are we all in on Manuel Beltre or someone else
  20. So far there hasn't been a free agent contract signed that I'm upset the Jays didn't sign instead. Hendricks, McCann, May, Minor, Santana not upset with. I won't add Morton and Treinen because I think the Jays (and most teams) had zero chance of getting either due to player preference. There are trades I'd wish we could have pulled off, especially Darvish and Lindor/Carrasco, but probably not Snell in terms of trade cost.
