  1. Glad we don't have to face Alcantra several times a year
  2. Yes Plus already proven he can play in the big leagues
  3. If we're theoretically trading for Soto aren't we likely to include an outfielder in the deal? Teoscar and Gurriel would be viable package pieces wouldn't they? Which also raises another question as to how long Soto is a viable OF option before he has to move to 1B/DH
  4. It's a little crazy - Judge has only been in the majors for 2 years longer than Soto, but he's 7 years older... 30 vs 23 is a massive difference when you're projecting/valuing obviously.
  5. I just realized Soto still has 2.5 years of control left before free agency That's pretty fantastic even if you can't manage a contract extension
  6. BTW do Soto and Vladdy have the same agent?
  7. Not trading a top prospect package for Soto when he won't even accept a 440M contract extension
  8. MLBTR re Soto negotiations TODAY: The Nationals aren’t planning to increase their offer beyond $440MM, The Washington Post’s Jesse Dougherty writes. Soto is reportedly looking for a deal that is at least a decade long, gives him the most guaranteed money in baseball history, and gives him an AAV at least close to the highest average annual values. In a Twitter thread, Dougherty suggests that the Nats could come closer to Soto’s demands by offering $440MM over 12 or 13 years rather than 15, though that scenario might not be palatable to the Nationals for luxury tax reasons.
  9. 100% right Pretty sure he was joking tho
  10. It's happening Red Sox about to fall to 3 games over 500
  11. Did he trash the clubhouse afterwards? Joking aside he's having a rough go
  12. Those balls are so fn hard to hit any distance in the air
  13. So yeah this though stretch of schedule is not working out well for Boston Wish our easy stretch was working out better....
  14. Use your closer in the top of the 10th Give up 2 runs Fack
  15. He wasn't facing a major league lineup tonight
  16. So you're saying they can be beaten???
  17. Same W-L% now as Montoyo had!!! Not an upgrade....
  18. Wilko was right!
  19. There was much anger when the Jays dumped him LOL...
  20. If the Orioles hold this 7-1 lead then all 5 teams in the AL East will be over 500 Insane
  21. All the talk on MLB radio is: - Charlie might be the nicest guy in MLB but not the best manager for all player types - the decision had been made weeks ago to fire him - decision cemented after bad road trip - probably wanted to do it on the Monday off day but death affecting the coaching staff family made it distasteful to do it then - didn't want to wait until Allstar break in case they went on a 6 game winning streak and would make them look stupid for firing him after that
  22. Last 5 seasons combined there were zero managers fired in-season This season there have already been 3
