  1. 100% fine with the Green contract as it now stands Don't think we could get someone as good for any less
  2. Feels like the Phils are going to win it all
  3. You used to have to leaf through a catalog It's too easy now
  4. Also wondering how much $$$ Ju1ced is raking in from the ads (Jk it probably still costs him money to host this thing)
  5. Scherzer cruised through the 1st on 8 pitches Now hit Alvarez on the ankle
  6. My gut says the same
  7. 6 players who have stood out in the AFL - Jim Mayo MLB Pipeline Pitchers Ricky Tiedemann, Blue Jays (13 IP, 2.77 ERA, .182 BAA, 12.5 K/9): Great body, physical prowess, lefty. Almost like a Chris Sale slot. Touches 97 mph, sweeping SL, good CH, deceptive; He’s stood out. Jackson Jobe, Tigers (12 IP, 2.25 ERA, .217 BAA, 9.0 K/9): Has been as advertised. Smooth, up to 96-97 mph, solid breaking ball. Good athlete. Balanced. Precise. Fills up the zone, attacks hitters. Davis Daniel, Angels (10 IP, 0.90 ERA, .094 BAA, 13.5 K/9): Breath of fresh air. Fills up the zone. Moves it around. Chance to be versatile on a staff. Shows the artillery to be able to start. Hitters Chase DeLauter, OF, Guardians (37 AB, .270/.367/.459, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 6 BB, 5 K, 3 SB): Looks awesome. Larry Walker-esque. Physical specimen. Moves well in the outfield. Swing is direct to the ball. Uses all fields. Will grow into prodigious power. Jakob Marsee, OF, Padres (38 AB, .500/.574/.868, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 6 BB, 9 K, 4 SB): Grinder. Solid ability on both sides of ball. Mid-major (Central Michigan product. Excellent performer. Get Mike Tauchman (Cubs) vibes. Sterlin Thompson, OF/2B, Rockies (31 AB, 484/.610/.742, 0 HR, 7 RBI, 10 BB, 7 K, 2 SB): Has been hitterish out here. Just like he was at Florida and this year. Beautiful swing, all fields. Grows into serious damage. Aggressive baserunner, awesome approach.
  8. Freddie Freeman just had one of his best seasons And proceeded to get 1 measly hit in the post season before the Dodgers were eliminated Ultimate Large vs small sample size discrepancy
  9. Sucks Terry Francona won't manage any more My wet dream for 5-6 years with this front office has been to get him and Jose Ramirez over here
  10. Assumed a Bo Bichette hit In any case Vladdy needs a life coach
  11. I'm 0% surprised about Atkins I'm maybe 20-30% surprised that Schneider is staying
  12. "When evaluating, you're not evaluating on a series or even a season. And in Ross's case, the body of work, to me, is undeniable," Shapiro said. "There's over eight seasons — whether it's the last four having the sixth-best record in the American League, whether it's three of the last four years in the post-season, building out great resources, hiring a great leadership team that's been successful, both internationally and domestically." "We need to get better," continued Shapiro. "Ross needs to get better but he's done a good job and put us in a good position next year to be a very good team and certainly deserves that opportunity to continue to lead the baseball organization." Atkins signed a five-year contract extension in 2021 that expires after the 2026 season.
  13. Shapiro has voted no on firing Atkins
  14. Shapiro says Atkins is staying on as GM https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/mark-shapiro-says-ross-atkins-will-return-as-blue-jays-gm/
  15. I hate remembering how much of a post season stud Springer was in Houston while for the Jays he has a total of 4 singles in two post season Wildcard series
  16. One of my favorite players and so happy he left Boston
  17. Bryce Harper has an OPS of 1700 in the post season against the Braves
  18. And yet somehow all 3 AL East teams got swept in their first playoff round Nuts
  19. Bullpens are better but hitters aren't BA SLG OPS RUNS all better in 2000 than the last couple of years https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/bat.shtml
  20. My 2 cents now that I can even think clearly Pulling Berrios sucked and I was very much against it. He was absolutely DEALING and that should outweigh the presumed pre-game plan to use Kikuchi for the lefties due up. But honestly the offense was so f'n pitiful that pulling Berrios early probably meant the difference between losing 2-0 instead of losing 1-0. Team scored 1 f***ING RUN in 18 innings like OMFG I can't even believe it. I mean who knows - maybe Berrios pitches 7 shutout innings and the bullpen holds it and they manage to scrape up a 1-0 win in extra innings but I doubt it.
  21. "resigned" 2 seconds before they were going to fire him
  22. Yes Gibby has even said this in interviews as a reason not to manage again
  23. Awful end to an awful season See you next year
