  1. I want him so bad but sounds like he just really wants to stay in Cleveland: https://www.si.com/mlb/bluejays/news/blue-jays-jose-ramirez-trade-guardians-extension In the final days of 2022 spring training, approaching an imposed deadline for extension talks while Toronto and San Diego ramped up trade efforts, Ramírez pushed to stay with the Guardians. Ramírez's agent, Rafa Nieves of Republik Sports, told Gonzalez he and others tried to talk the Cleveland infielder out of taking the well below market value deal he eventually signed. "He knows that he left money on the table," Gonzalez reports Nieves said. "But he says, '$150 million or $200 million, my life is gonna be the same. I'm happier with $150 million in Cleveland than $200 million somewhere else.'" Toronto's interest in Ramírez was long-reported, dating back to at least midseason 2021. Touching on the days leading up to Ramírez's eventual extension, Sportsnet's Jeff Blair adds that industry sources told him "three of Randal Grichuk, Cavan Biggio, Alejandro Kirk and Pearson would have been the package" sent to Cleveland for Ramírez. ------------------ Interesting article with more details than I knew were out there. He has full no trade clause according to Sportrac.
  2. Josh Donaldson wRC+ from 2020-2023: 132 126 98 78
  3. 2025 Gausman Berrios Bassitt Woodruff Tiedemann Like it
  4. Feels like an Atkins move Pay him a modest amount to not pitch in 2024 then pay him appropriately after Ryu and then Kikuchi are both off the books
  5. Pretty much confirmed now
  6. Soroka has pitched a total of 46 innings over the past 4 seasons. After finishing 2019 ROY-2 and Cy-6.
  7. Meanwhile they're still paying Chris Davis and Mychal Givens to not play
  8. They're the one team that didn't even make a pitch to him when he was first coming to MLB (so when he was cheap AF too)
  9. 2 seconds? Wtf why bother. Current times feel fine.
  10. So much retrospect but if you could magically undo the Varsho trade and do that one instead you would LOL
  11. Just trade for Jose Ramirez and be done with it /Out
  12. That would make a lot of sense to a team that needs his bat more than they need his arm
  13. Would we want him as DH at that price?
  14. No matter what I think chance we get him is tiny But some proof pics of him in Toronto this weekend would be cool
  15. I'll be there in January. Can't wait.
  16. Angels new infield coach is... Ryan Goins
  17. One thing Atkins has been very good with is free agent signings Almost all have worked out well
  18. Seems prudent Big time fantasy baseball implications LOL
  19. Vladdy is fine defensively. And he has great bat to ball skills and ++ power. His problems are baserunning and at-the-plate plate approach/swing decisions.
  20. And he's predicted to get >200M
  21. Damn right And Brett Lawrie was a semi
  22. Votto not wanting to come to Toronto when he was good makes me not want him at all now that he's 40 and a part time platoon 1B at best
  23. Pitching is great Need to fill 2B, 3B and one corner OF spot with above average bats in 2-3 of those spots. Offense needs more certainly because we just don't know what Springer/Vladdy/Kirk/Varsho will do in 2024.
