    Agreed I'm cool with that for 2B (I just don't feel good about them trying to fill BOTH 2B and 3B with rookies/Biggio/Espinal. A trade feels in order if they don't bring back Chapman)

    I've come around to just giving Bellinger what he wants The risk is probably just worth it at this point Then sign a 1-2 year DH deal with someone and a cheap depth starter in case Manoah suxx or someone gets hurt in spring training

    Though you know what? KK and Varsho have pretty equivalent L/R splits, if anything just a little worse vs LHP for Varsho. KK career OPS vs RHP: .737 KK career OPS vs LHP: .666 Varsho career OPS vs RHP: 736 Varsho career OPS vs LHP: .648

    He was great this year and I like the guy a lot But yeah, unless we're adding some heavy bats at DH/2B/3B we just can't have the same OF as last year. Great D but just not enough offense.

    AA/Beeston would only do value contracts. (Closest they came to "overpaying" was Russell Martin and he was worth every penny.) The current front office has repeatedly shown a willingness to spend with the best of them for the right free agent. Sometimes the players agree to take the Jays money (Ryu, Springer, Gausman) and sometimes they don't (Ohtani, and surely some others we doon't even know about)

    I'd prefer a trade for a guy with a healthy track record over giving Bellinger 6-7 years
