  1. f*** you all I'm absolutely convinced he's going to sign with the Jays
  2. They've also shown a willingness to pay a position player ~20M per, presuming the Santander rumour is true, and also a willingness to pay Vladdy long term. Though I guess we don't if they'd already signed Santander if they would have been willing to pay Hoffman but I hope so because the BP needed it. So yes could be a record payroll for sure depending on how the rest of the dominos fall. They will likely plan to avoid going over the luxury tax threshold repeatedly however. Thankfully they avoided it last year.
  3. No problem with acquiring Gimenez in isolation It's just that as it stands we're sitting with Loperfido starting in LF, Clement at 3B and we don't really have a DH. Need some more offense from somewhere, and both time and options are quickly running out.
  4. The Orioles and free agent reliever Andrew Kittredge are in agreement on a one-year, $10MM guarantee, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The Paragon Sports International client receives a $9MM salary for the upcoming season and is guaranteed a $1MM buyout on a $9MM club option for 2026. Baltimore has a full 40-man roster and will need to make a move when the contract is finalized.
  5. Same I think he could have fought for more through arbitration and won But he's likely looking at the big picture and a 12-14 year contract and realizes that makes a couple extra million now meaningless
  6. Even worse: Agrees to buy something for 50 bucks then shows up at your door and asks if you'll take 30. (I've actually had this happen to me and had to send them away)
  7. He was only projected to get 2M in arb this year. And everyone knows the Rays won't be keeping him if that option year reaches 20M.
  8. CBS Sports: The Rays and Rasmussen avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to a two-year, $8 million contract extension, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The deal also includes an $8 million club option for 2027 which could escalate to as high as $20 million if Rasmussen reaches all of his health and innings pitched incentives. There's a $500,000 buyout attached to the option, so the right-hander is guaranteed a total of $8.5 million with the extension. Rasmussen looked sharp in 2024 in his return from an internal brace procedure, holding a 2.83 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 35:6 K:BB over 28.2 innings. He is expected to return to the rotation full-time in 2025, although he will have significant workload restrictions in place after totaling just 80.2 frames since the start of the 2023 season.
  9. Really tired of waiting for something to happen
  10. They did for Soto But not for multiple other players together as a package [Scratches head]
  11. I meant more that he got to play in 40 games and had a chance to hit and prove he can stay in the bigs,. Not so much that he could beat any regulars on The Dodgers for a job. From day 1 everyone knew he was just a fill in and they weren't going to keep him.
  12. Biggio blew his best chance while he was in LA. Going to be hard to ever make it back.
  13. Royals Sign Cavan Biggio To Minor League Contract January 5th, 2025 at 3:50pm CST • By Mark Polishuk The Royals announced that utilityman Cavan Biggio has been signed to a minor league contract. While no mention was made in the team’s official announcement, it can be assumed that Biggio received an invitation to Kansas City’s big league Spring Training camp. K.C. is Biggio’s fifth different organization within the last seven months. Biggio had spent his entire pro career with the Blue Jays until Toronto traded him to the Dodgers in June, and Los Angeles released him two months later. The Giants then picked Biggio up on another minors contract in August but he didn’t see any big league time with San Francisco before he was traded to the Braves in August. Biggio appeared in four games with Atlanta and was then outrighted off the 40-man roster at season’s end, with Biggio opting for free agency.
