Mets catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud expects to spend two more weeks in a boot for his fractured foot before resuming baseball activities.
CHICAGO — Top catching prospect Travis d’Arnaud was not cleared by doctors to resume activity on Friday, and instead will need two more weeks in a boot to protect him from putting weight on the fractured bone in his left foot.
D’Arnaud has worn the boot since suffering a non-displaced fracture of his first metatarsal a month ago. While it was not the best-case scenario, it was not totally unexpected, according to the team. The Mets expect D’Arnaud to resume playing in Triple-A by mid-June.
