    TSN: George Springer is not in the Toronto Blue Jays’ starting lineup for the second straight day as they wrap up a series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Springer was removed from Saturday’s starting lineup due to left shoulder tightness. He did appear in the game as a pinch-runner for Alejandro Kirk in the eighth inning but did not take an at-bat.

    Shortstop JoJo Parker was promoted to the high-A Vancouver Canadians, Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling reported on Saturday. The Blue Jays' eighth-overall selection in the 2025 MLB Draft, Parker has torn up the Florida State League with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, slashing .259/.389/.471 with 13 home runs and 66 RBIs over 87 games. After a slow start, Parker has been particularly impressive since the start of June, hitting 10 homers and posting a .973 OPS. The left-handed hitter's 114.2 m.p.h. max exit velocity ranks in the 97th percentile

    Guardians playing themselves out So we didn't gain any net ground just 3.5 behind the Rangers now instead. Need to keep winning. And ideally one of BOS or NYY gets beaten back a bunch. But their only games against each other are next weekend (4 games in 3 days). We play the Red Sox 4 times and the Yankees 6 times over the next couple of weeks. Need to stay hot.
