  1. I just called in to Mad Dog Radio to discuss the Jays and Dickey. They are set up for All Star Festivities and taking a lot of calls. Bautista was on earlier being interviewed. They discussed the Dickey trade, the Blue Jays, and the AL East for several minutes after my call. Steve Phillips and Adam Schein, the hosts, both think the Jays finish 2nd in the AL East this year. Wow. I doubt it but was interested to hear their opinion.

  3. Yep. That hurt. Verlander 95 MPH fastball. Not wearing a cup. LOL.
  4. I think this guy deserves another one of these: http://deadspin.com/jordany-valdespin-taking-a-fastball-right-to-the-dick-453420680 http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1285801!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_635/minsider12s-1-web.jpg

    NHL Thread

Kovalchuck officially signs with a KHL team. $ not announced. 4 year deal. http://bit.ly/1bgnFU3 Wow his old team mates are pissed, huh?
  6. 2-3 weeks ago he did. I'm sure he's more realistic now
  7. What a downfall
  8. Agree. Especially because we desperately need a new starting catcher in time for spring training 2014.
  9. Not fair. Dotel and scrabble helped the Cards win the WS.
  10. F me. Hahaha. I put it in the futures game thread too. Got 'em mixed up.
  11. There's a Jimnez thread in the prospects sub forum. I'll put this in there too.
  12. I guess he improved his approach, huh?
  13. At the plate, Davis has elite-level power potential (80), but the swing has a lot of miss in it, he struggles with pitch recognition, and loads up every swing like he is swinging for his life. It’s a bad approach and exploitable at the higher levels. He could run into 30-plus bombs if he could make enough contact, but the strikeout totals make Rob Deer feel better about himself. Davis is also a player that lives in a very small sample, meaning he lets single at-bats linger in his thoughts, affecting the subsequent adjustments that need to be made as the game (or even at-bat) continue. In simpler terms: Davis is hard on himself and it can affect his performance.
  14. Lets rush him along to make sure he can't hit though...
  15. But even though Amaro might still like Gose, his trade value has really fallen I'm sure
  16. Here's where Gose's 2013 mILB suckage really bites us in the ass: - Phillies Looking For A Center Fielder By Edward Creech [July 14 at 5:00pm CST] Phillies center fielder Ben Revere told reporters, including MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, he will miss six-to-eight weeks after breaking a bone in his right ankle in the first game of yesterday's doubleheader against the White Sox. Revere is scheduled to visit a foot specialist tomorrow. "The prognosis doesn't sound too good," Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. told reporters, including Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We'll see how long it's going to be. I think it's something that's going to take a while. If that's the case, we'll probably be looking for a center fielder if one is available or will be an upgrade on what we have with John (Mayberry) out there."
  17. Cubs have apparently told Garza he's going to be traded Here we go...
  18. Classic Love it
  19. Theo is almost as active as AA on the "claim and DFA" circuit
  20. Cubs Designate Henry Rodriguez For Assignment by Edward Creech, Jul 14 at 3:51 PM CST The Cubs have designated right-hander Henry Rodriguez for assignment, tweets MLB.com's Carrie Muskat. The move clears a roster spot for outfielder Cole Gillespie, who was claimed on waivers from the Giants yesterday, tweets Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald. This is the second time in six weeks Rodriguez has been designated for assigment. The Cubs acquired the 26-year-old on June 11 after the Nationals removed him from their roster.
  21. Yeah this legitimizes the possibility of a deal more than anything else we've heard.
