  1. Dream hitting coach? Paul Molitor. Is he doing anything with the Brewers or Twins??
  2. Good point. Sometimes the best teachers aren't always the ones who actually do it best. But they have to understand what they're teaching well and be good at evaluating and advising. Maybe Carter would work, maybe he wouldn't.
  3. Yep. Not a good choice, but I'm afraid I can see it happening some day.
  4. I know where he's coming from Great guy, and rightfully famous for "the" home run, but career .259/.306/.464 hitter #OverRated #NotMyHittingCoach
  5. Well, at least they're not talking about Joe Carter...
  6. I go to Florida about every other March. Can't wait to see some games at the new place! We always stay on the east coast and have never bothered driving over to Dunedin cause I kept hearing it was a PITA to get there.
  7. What does this do to the Jays A+ team? Can they play a full season there in a shared facility? I presume so I suppose or else teams wouldn't share like this.
  8. I dunno. Dunedin isn't very convenient. More snow bird Jays fans stay on the east coast so maybe this will boost attendance/interest.
  9. Yep, that's it
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/hou/astros-nearing-spring-training-move-from-kissimmee?ymd=20130930&content_id=62246726&vkey=news_hou
  11. Per Griffin and Palm Beach area newspapers. Blue Jays and Astros "95 %" likely to build new 100M shared ST facility and begin use in 2016 Nice Trying to find links to news. (A colleague lives in Palm Beach area 4 months of the year and says it's been all over the news the last 2 days)
  12. Alvarez K and it's all over
  13. Wainwright in to finish a complete game
  14. I liked his suckage when he was with Boston
  15. Game and series over, boyos. 5-1 Cards in the bottom of the 8th Adams moonshot 2 run HR
  16. Yep. Some people just refuse to accept that there is luck involved in baseball. Probably (maybe definitely) more than any other sport. Except maybe Tiddly Winks. Those things can fly anywhere.
  17. He must be. He was just gifted a bonus out by an ump on a play at 1B.
  18. I'd kill for Carpenter alone
  19. Wainwright is KILLING the Pirates tonight
  20. Another great stat: Jon Jay has the second lowest SLG in post season history of any player with >100 PA Who is lower? Joe Girardi. When asked about it, Girardi joked "I can't believe they let me play that much" LOL
  21. Yep. But Albert Pujols wasn't that great and didn't help them win the 2011 WS...
  22. But Yadi and Freeze are "clutch"!!!
  23. Remarkable stat I just heard on the radio during the Cards Pirates broadcast while I'm driving: 2013 Cardinals scored the most runs in the NL this year despite hitting the third fewest home runs, and having the fewest stolen bases in the NL. How? They hit .330 with RISP, the highest recorded in the history of major league baseball, at least since the stat started being tracked. Remarkable? Yes. Repeatable? No way.
  24. The Yankees have no trouble attracting free agents so they could buy a good team for next year. But it will cost a shitload of money. And it might not work if they keep signing these older guys like Ichiro and Youkilis. Cause even their franchise players like Jeter and CC may never be the same again.
