  1. 1. Hopefully every one is OK If so then 2. Obviously he needs to get the Hell out of Seattle
  2. He really, really is a great base stealer though. Gose can outrun him in a 100 yard dash I'm sure, but Rajai has the base stealing instincts. His problem is defense (despite the occasional spectacular play he's mostly terrible), doesn't get on base enough for a speedster and is a liability against RHP. He's a niche player who will be given a bigger role than he deserves by some NL team that wants to get "faster". Edit: Hopefully the Phillies
  3. I like Rajai but his time with us is done Accept it and move on Some NL team will pay him too much for his stolen bases and ignore his defensive liabilities
  4. MLBTR: Eight teams have contacted Hudson, tweets David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Giants, Red Sox, A's and Rangers have all reached out in addition to the Braves, Indians and Royals
  5. Davidi on Sportsnet: “I guess I’m not really too surprised with the way everything went down last year and how I pitched whenever I was out there,” Johnson told sportsnet.ca. “It’s tough to be there for only one year and to have that bad of a year, it’s disappointing. Now I get thrown into free agency and get to experience it a little bit and see what it’s about. Excited, but still a little disappointed in how last year went.” Johnson did not rule out a return to Toronto, but said it was too soon to predict what might happen. “I don’t know,” he said. “My agent (Matt Sosnick) thinks about these things all the time, me, I told him I’m going to wait to see what the Blue Jays do and then we’ll start thinking about what the next step is. Now it’s time to talk about the next step and where we go from here, and we’ll see which teams call and everything like that.”
  6. Davidi has the story: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-johnson-qualifying-offer/

  8. So now it's extra EXTRA official:
  9. Playing 3B maybe But not at the plate
  10. They don't name their source
  11. The Blue Jays will not be making a qualifying offer to righty Josh Johnson, MLBTR has learned. Even after a lost season wrecked by injuries, there was a small chance that the Jays would overpay to get the 29-year-old under contract for 2014. Had the Blue Jays made the $14.1MM qualifying offer, it's likely Johnson would have accepted, as he's not expected to reach that salary on the open market. Johnson, profiled by MLBTR here, ranked 30th on our Top 50 Free Agents list. He's expected to be ready for Spring Training after elbow surgery this month, and will be seeking a one-year deal to rebuild value. A few days ago, agent Matt Sosnick told Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press, "If Toronto doesn't make a qualifying offer, we'll probably be looking for a good pitching atmosphere, a good defense behind him and a team with a good chance to win."
  12. Good read "The most abrupt change for Encarnacion over the last two seasons wasn’t the increased power production. He’s always possessed massive raw power. It was simply an issue of consistently tapping into that power. He made some mechanical adjustments to shorten his swing — and they’ve been well-publicized — but perhaps the most intriguing aspect of his meteoric rise the past two seasons has been his incredible improvement in his plate discipline. His walk rate jumped dramatically to 13.0% in 2012 and remained consistent at 13.2% this past season. Simultaneously, his strikeout rate decreased and he was one of only four qualified hitters to walk more than he struck out in 2013. What makes Encarnacion unique is that he’s the only one in that group who can be considered a power hitter. Norichika Aoki, Marco Scutaro and Alberto Callaspo don’t even cumulatively come close to Encarnacion’s home run total this year (20 to 36, respectively)."
  13. OK, I'll stop yakking about it.
  14. Nevermind. They do plan to give Kuroda a QO: http://mweb.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/24171209/yanks-to-make-qualifying-offer-to-cano-kuroda-only-leaning-on-grandy
  15. I haven't heard anything on Yankees qualifying him or extending him. Have they announced anything?
  16. Kuroda on a 1 year deal would be ideal while we see how the young guys develop. Then you can possibly turn him in to a draft pick.
  17. I'd give him 18M plus an option year. You?
  18. Well they can't ALL play in Miami. Especially if they're good and want to make more than league minimum.
