  1. It's good work if you can get it. The crazy thing is when you think about it, if he wasn't so good at baseball he probably would have ended up dirt poor and working in a toilet making factory like his father did. Sad to think how few in his situation might rise above the poverty vs how many are stuck in it for life.
  2. LOL Trying to break the habit
  3. Useful artcicles: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/wp/2012/09/05/stephen-strasburgs-shutdown-and-how-baseball-teams-insure-contracts/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2013/02/understanding-the-business-of-baseball-insurance-on-player-contracts.html/
  4. Some teams get insurance on some players contracts. It seems to be relatively rare to do this and teams rarely divulge whether a given player's contract is insured. Mostly mega contracts and long term ones perhaps and they never cover 100%. No idea if Reyes' contract is insured or not - not sure if anyone outside f the a Blue Jays front office would know this or not.
  5. He should have stayed in the AL Good God...
  6. I have to admit, I also kinda like how under the radar we are. No one is paying any attention. We could sneak up on teams in the AL East.
  7. Yep. May not last, but it's better than the opposite!
  8. Ah s***, you're right. pulled in the 5th after giving up 4HR and allowing 8 runs. Wonder how serious?
  9. Can't vote for pitchers Need to lobby Farrell to pick him
  10. Nova getting rocked again. Nothing wrong with that!
  11. I'll definitely be keeping this avatar for a while if he keeps pitching anywhere near this well
  12. This team is very dependant on one or both of Morrow and Dickey having good years. If they both suck we're in big trouble. I don't think they will, but they both make me nervous every start.
  13. Yeah one especially nice smooth play going to his right and make a strong accurate throw to first. Not much base running action. And yes the pitching is so good outside of Dickey (and I think he'll turn it around)
  14. Yeah he looked ok. Seemed at his usual at short and running to 1B. Didn't see a lot of action though.
  15. I don't get it. Why repeatedly make accounts on a forum just to complain bitterly about the team and fight with people?? Metallijay and Dogg both just have this weird, weird need to be here doing their things no matter how much adversity they find.
  16. Wilner just told me on the Blue Jays talk that Moises Sierra is a "fine" outfielder and that I overstated it when I called him a "hazard in the outfield" I don't know why I bother calling in.
  17. Spanky you were right We should have clued in sooner that that was him. I mean he was an obvious ******* from day 1 but he kept just under the radar enough. Anyhow there's no doubt it was him. Can't say how I know but we know.
