    The casual fans don't hate him though. They know he wasnt that good but they don't hate him. And he was dumped by the Jays - he didn't leave of his own accord. He won't get booed like you might want. LOL

    Neither is worth much mid season in large part because the team acquiring them can't qualify them and get draft pick compensation. Teams will pay sometimes for SP rentals, not very often for good outfielders What did Hunter Pence get a couple years ago? Can't think of any other similar cliber OF traded mid season recently.

    Jays now 3rd in the majors in runs scored, and 2nd in home runs The offense is killer (Though it's worth noting that the Tigers have played 5-6 fewer games than most teams)

    Yeah it's a huge deal to win the first game off the pitcher who you struggle against, knowing you're up against their crap ones the next two games. Bring it on!

    What do you think of 2015 having no Rasmus and going with 4 outfielders in Cabrera, Bautista, Pillar and Gose? Adequate or no offensively?? Pillar and Gose can share CF duties plus sport starts in LF/RF, while Melky and Bautista each start 150 games ideally.

    Agreed Though since we did nothing about 2B or SP, we probably should have aimed higher. Ruiz for primary catcher and Navarro or Kratz as backup.

    Good timing. Davidi wrote about he anbd Buerhle, who loves him as a catcher: http://www.sportsnet.ca/blogs/blue-jays-rundown/buehrle-and-navarro-working-well/ Buehrle is particular about his catchers. He almost never shakes off a sign, and trusts his catcher to have a solid game plan ready. Since he likes to work fast, his catcher needs to work at a quick pace too, and not keep him waiting. Last year he and J.P. Arencibia had trouble getting on the same page, and that probably contributed to Buehrle’s slow start. The reverse is true this year with Navarro, who’s playing a key role in his pitcher’s success. “Big time,” says Buehrle. “I don’t look at scouting reports before the game, so him and Pete (Walker, the pitching coach) go over that stuff and he’s got a game plan. He puts the fingers down, I throw it and try to make the best pitch at that time. I obviously have to make the pitch, but as far as calling it in certain situations, you’ve got to give him a ton of credit.”

    He's been decent. No better no worse. Offensively an improvement for sure. Sounds like he's a good game caller too. Blocking balls and throwing have been sup par though.
