    That is quite interesting, although the team could also let the young reliever pile up a bunch of saves then trade them for a nice little haul I'm guessing. I also find it hard to believe they couldn't sign the reliever through his arbitration years, then convert to a closer.

    Damn it! Ah well, it should help my save % and shot totals. At least I no longer have to worry about whether he's the #1 goalie or not.

    Good game today. Tons of positives, one or two small negatives. Been especially impressed with the defense early on, as well as the hitting approach.

    He isn't projected back until mid season. If he's still throwing 81 three months from now, then it's a problem. At this point in the process, it isn't.

    It's funny, they do such a good job sharing the ball, then when the game is on the line they abandon what makes them successful.

    Davis had a better year last year, but that 30% k rate is rather worrisome going forward.

    Trying to despair Boras seems to be having an effect though.

    Interesting. Apparently (according to Blair) EE has told the Jays he'd prefer to DH than play the field, gives him a chance to do video work in between at-bats. Davidi says that EE laughed when asked and said he's happy to play wherever he's asked, although that's not exactly a definitive denial.

    I didn't think he looked all that good (didn't catch very many clean), but I liked the fundamentals he showed. I think the results will come with a few more reps.
