  1. Quite likely, but they may not all equally. It seems like more than just a coincidence. It also seems like league wide, the fastball movement hasn't changed as much (but the slider sure has). It could be the particular pitchers we have in our division that are mostly responsible for it.
  2. He really does, but I'm currently getting my money's worth lol.
  3. Certainly he's past his prime, but I'm not sure that's the main driving factor. I don't have home/road splits on pitches for when he was in Coors to know how much that played into it, but there's some really interesting numbers from the past few years. Tulo typically has murdered the fastball. Since 2009, the years he's had the most trouble have all coincided with fairly large increases in fastball movement he's faced, with this year having by far the most vertical AND horizontal movement yet. Similarly with the slider, there's also a sharp change in movement this year, and Tulo's numbers versus it have dropped drastically. I haven't dived into it far enough to do a proper analysis, but I did find it really interesting.
  4. Yep. Things aren't in balance if I don't have at least one.
  5. As an added bonus to this trade, I no longer have to cut Appel!
  6. Tucker and Robert (or whoever you decide on) could be a really nice score in the end. Rendon fits in really nicely for my team, which I'm hoping starts competing next year.
  7. There's at least 3 guys I would take over him if he were eligible, possibly more. I like him too though.
  8. Fairly open to ideas, but it would have to fit into the framework of my rebuild (ie, not older players, this year doesn't matter for me). Hell, willing to offer up the #1 pick if someone has a prospect I like more than the pick.
  9. The out is on Pillar. Not scoring is on Pearce.
  10. Promoting Challenger Baseball by panning the camera to a few select kids in the crowd... someone may not have thought that one through.
  11. So picks 21 and 22 are still available if anyone has interest, as well as other players.
  12. I got half way through a re-write of the BBDL sheet, which I was hoping we could use for this league as well, but Google keeps changing the underlying scripting. So far they haven't broken anything major in the existing BBDL sheet, but it would have affected things I was trying to add (like automatic draft sheet additions, etc). I'm worried about adding additional complexity, because it increases the chances of things breaking. I now think the best approach is to write a web app to deal with it rather than using Google Sheets, but I just don't have the time to do it atm.
  13. I know I discussed the pick with someone, but I don't think I traded it (starting to get mixed up between all the leagues). It's still listed as mine on the sheet.
  14. Picks 21 and 22 are available if anyone is interested. Cecil (holds) and Casilla (saves) are also available if people need bullpen help.
  15. The contract is a thing though. I mean, it's basically what, 2 free years of Judge, plus 3 arbitration years, for 3 years / 100M of Trout? Judge likely will come back to Earth some, but that's a massive chunk of money, plus 2 years, to exchange. They'd be far better off keeping Judge and offering 3/100 to JD Martinez or something (not that he should cost anywhere close to that), or saving it for Machado or Harper.
  16. I doubt the Yankees (or any other team) would give up Judge for anything right now.
  17. We need to get Dermody up here, and actually give him a real look. He's dominating down in AAA, and Loup can't seem to pitch to lefties. It's like Dermody must have taken a dump in Atkin's corn flakes or something. Everyone else has been on the shuttle but him.
  18. Smoak for Clint Frazier! Yeah, I know it's not happening.
  19. Trading all of they guys like JD, Osuna, Sanchez etc (unless you get ML talent in return) isn't a retool. It's a rebuild. That's not necessarily bad, but I think it's clear that management has no desire to do that. I could understand Happ getting moved (he'd probably net a good prospect in return), and he's older. Liriano and Estrada, given that they're free agents at the end of the year, would be good targets to get some salary relief on. I doubt we'd get anything useful for them, but keeping Biagini in the rotation would have some value for us longer term. Bolsinger would probably produce similar results as well (albeit with much less upside), so it likely wouldn't hurt our competitiveness this year much. We could always go for something less conventional too. Verlander is likely available for example. While his contract the next two years hurts (a lot), maybe you can find some kind of fit there, especially if the Tigers are willing to package him with someone in another area of need in exchange for taking the whole salary and maybe some lesser prospects. JD Martinez, for an unlikely example, would look really nice in LF for the remainder of the season. Someone like Joe Jimenez would look real nice in the pen too.
  20. As for this year, depending on the cost Jed Lowrie would be a really nice addition. He's apparently very available, controllable for next year if we wish, and is pretty versatile. His bat is up and down, but so far this year, it's been up. Decent defender.
  21. Nothing necessarily wrong with dumping salary. It can open up other opportunities elsewhere.
  22. You should trade him while this outing is fresh in your mind
  23. I'd love to be all over Otani. I don't see us being involved in the other big name free agents though.
