I think they suggested they gave the agent an indication of what they'd be comfortable with, but I'm not sure they ever gave him a formal offer. -

To be fair, of all the reasonable poses they could have put him in, that one was pretty much the worst possible. Even Ichiro might look fat in that pose. -
Yeah, it's basically the "to hell with scouts" list. It's useful to find potential sleepers, which I think is the point. Just like any other system, keep in mind its strengths and weaknesses and it can provide another useful viewpoint.

So it looks like Malachai Richardson is owed 4M over the next two years, plus the remainder this year and Bruno just the remainder this year. So we're paying 4M to save 1M on the cap this year?

I'd say a bit of both. Making lots of 3s is really helping, but Boston just seems a little out of sorts.

He's also going to be in a stacked FA pool next year (and probably won't be plan A for the bigger teams looking to spend), and who knows if labor tensions keep rising if there could be a strike that produces a result less favorable to aging stars. Getting a deal done this offseason may be in his best interests. -
I think Torres will be in the starting lineup, but not Andujar.

His K rates in the minors were fine (and a lot better than some of the hot prospects today). The problem was when he reached the majors, he decided he had to pull everything and walks were the devil. -
