  1. Oh, yeah for that it's fine.
  2. This seems like a really, really bad idea.
  3. He put up 2.9 WAR in 2016 and is projected for 2 next year. The cost per WAR isn't good, but it could be a lot worse. His salary decreasing for the last year and option year if desired is also very fortunate.
  4. Hell of a lot better than last year.
  5. Lol, FFS Demar!
  6. Hunter Strickland and Austin Slater maybe?
  7. I've been assuming in the $12M range, similar to last year, but it could be less. MLBTR has him at 2/16.
  8. Probably closer to Jay Bruce 2.0, with better defense.
  9. I'm actually really surprised he hasn't said anything about the two recent moves. He did post a video showing his shoe collection though.
  10. Holy crap, that's a hell of a return for Hamilton.
  11. I don't know about that. I think the dumb ones in the USA just focus more on politics and racial inequality.
  12. I'd love Garcia, but I think we'll likely spread the money out.
  13. I have to think we'll now look to pick up a cheap 5th starter, and could sign a reliever or two. Oh, Siegrist, and/or Romo would look like really nice targets, with an Anderson or Liriano as the SP. A backup catcher like Ruiz could be interesting too.
  14. I assume it would be the pitcher talking to the catcher, or maybe even the pitching coach talking to both.
  15. Yeah, this would make the most sense to me. Really though, there ARE other ways they can handle it (the glove swipe to change the sign for example). I'm sure we'll see the pitchers and catchers get creative.
  16. Kinda seems a little bit harsh, but I have to admit I'll enjoy not seeing catchers run out to the mound every other pitch, etc.
  17. What exactly is the auction for?
  18. The general consensus is both.
  19. Apparently he's not a good framer, but otherwise has been good in his career.
  20. I kinda wish we had claimed Vogt last year. He's projected at 1 WAR for backup playing time, at a cost of 3M. He would have been a really nice fit.
  21. What happened last year with our backup catchers can't be allowed to happen again, but crappy is crappy. From 2015 to 2016, Thole put up -0.8 WAR in 68 games and had a wRC+ of just over 30. The difference is you can't really replace Thole if you have Dickey, but you can replace the tire fires we went through last year.
  22. No, people have their panties in a twist over what happens to the ball once he lets it go. Seriously though, it's not just him, but the impact of also rostering someone who can catch him. Those little bits add up over the course of a season.
  23. WTF ref? How the hell can you miss a goaltending call like that?
  24. We could also trade someone like Pearce to free some up, who with another signing probably wouldn't be worth the $7M to us (but should to someone who could offer him more than the butt side of a platoon).
