  1. Ouch! https://www.cnn.com/videos/sports/2019/01/03/basketball-player-backboard-block-north-central-meredith-mxp-vpx.hln/video/playlists/atv-trending-videos/
  2. It would be nice to have more buckets than turnovers...
  3. I'm ready to watch Kawhi continue to get no foul calls, while Derozan probably sits at the line all night.
  4. Yeah, I would have preferred to see what he could do if he really is mostly healthy rather than pay for someone else on top of his salary who may not be much better. Worst case, let him go in May if need be. Best case, he gets off to a hot start and someone picks up some of his remaining salary via trade.
  5. Lol, those are predictions for 2023. There's a reasonable chance you won't have ANY players you currently own now five years from now.
  6. Simmons just made a great play in the Clippers - 76ers game, bouncing the ball off the defender on an inbounds play and taking it in for an easy dunk.
  7. Filling in for Didi. Pretty good fit for Tulo, but a little surprising for the Yankees imo.
  8. The data is based on Facebook likes, which may not correlate well to actual numbers of fans (especially among older folks, the proportion of which is likely skewed a bit in places like Florida). It's still interesting though.
  9. These late whistles are really, really annoying.
  10. I don't know what to tell you. http://www.dailydetroit.com/2015/04/01/map-shows-the-detroit-tigers-own-the-hearts-of-almost-all-of-michigan/
  11. You know you can right-click on the image and either inspect or view image info to see the source, right?
  12. Looks like his deal is basically 14.33M a year for 3 years, 13M for the player option, and 16.5M a year for 4 additional years if the Mariners exercise the extension. With posting crap factored in, that's 17M per year for 3 years, 15.1M for the player option, and 19M a year for the 4 years.
  13. Maybe if you didn't keep stuffing it so quickly ...
  14. Boras will chase the money, but it's possible a west coast team who's games may be more easily shown in Japan may offer much more in the way of sponsorship deals. Those could potentially exceed what he's actually making in salary.
  15. Stop trying to follow them, you're making the rest of us look bad.
  16. You could probably find some courses on a site like udemy (they have them on cheap right now). Just look for something highly rated, with lots of content in the course. It's also a great place to get courses to learn Python, R, or anything else you want to learn about.
  17. Because teams at the deadline get more desperate for help, especially when injuries kick in and they're pushing up against whatever internal salary caps they have in place. Obviously this would also only happen if he pitches well in the first half, both in terms of advanced stats and actual results. Last year the advanced stats suggest he's a viable 5th starter. The actual results weren't quite as kind, and likely pushed his value down (granted front offices are getting better in that regard). Richard is (probably) better than Liriano when we traded him, albeit with less potential upside, and definitely cheaper.
  18. He'd be more for the stretch drive, and could probably fill a slot in the pen beyond that if necessary. His ground ball ability would be the attraction, especially in a band box. He's projected at a 4.14 xFIP, and had 3.76 in 2017. It's not hard to imagine that a little babip luck would produce something like that.
  19. I wouldn't say zero upside. He's a cheap vet who could very plausibly post an ERA slightly under 4 with some good babip luck. That could return a McKinney or Teoscar type player at the deadline imo.
  20. Kikuchi is a Boras client. He's almost certainly going to whoever offers the most money.
  21. Man, if injuries are gonna happen to my team, I'd really appreciate it at least being balanced between stars and scrubs. This is getting out of hand. Better now than in the playoffs I guess.
  22. I love watching knuckleball pitchers. I don't always love watching it after contact is made though.
  23. Well, trading for him is one way to test the young kids defensively. At least we don't have real grass, so the worms should be safe.
  24. Teams give rule 5 guys back all the time after taking a brief look at them in ST. I suspect we'll keep him, but it's certainly not a given.
  25. Maybe OG should shoot free throws from the 3 point line.
