Surprised no one has mentioned the big 4 team basketball trade last night.
To Houston: Covington, Bell, 2nd
To Atlanta: Capela, Nene
To Minnesota: Beasley, Hernangomez, Turner, Vanderbilt, 1st
To Denver: Green, Bates-Diop, Napier, Vonleh, 1st
That was fun. Mahomes is so good!
On another note, 7 of my 9 paid DFS lineups cashed (although nothing big) and 2 of my 4 free lineups! I lost one of the 2 failed paid lineups on Mahomes taking knees at the end of the game.
Maybe something about what they can do to improve pitch recognition / reaction time. There's got to be more they're doing than just suggesting more reps.
I think it's more likely that calling the game will shift to the dugout, and the pitcher (and/or possibly catcher) will use a tap system to modify the call if they want to change it.
That's true, but the league trade deadlines aren't that far removed from when the draft was, and if the MiLB draft is done just before the season, that will promote discussion there as well. What I don't like is that the leagues were all slightly unique (BORED in particular). If we convert them all to full keepers, we lose some of that.
I'm very much on board with this. I'd love to do the same thing for the other leagues too. If we really want to have a cutdown, then merge the waiver and MiLB drafts into one.
I'd suggest you create your own experimental league where you can play around with settings. You can even create one that automatically uses the settings chosen in one of the other leagues. It's really dangerous to poke around in a live league.
I think they just need to shorten some of the wasted time:
Enforce a quicker pitch clock.
Enforce batters not stepping out.
Allow communications through technology to eliminate the time a pitcher and catcher need to agree on a pitch.
Better integrate some of the advanced technology they have to make replays and the time between pitches or batters more interesting to the viewer.
Find a way to interactively engage people. A lot of people like to challenge themselves and compete, even if it's not on the field.
I believe teams each owned a stake in MLBAM and were getting significant revenue from it. I mean, it sucks, but it's understandable. When you have teams likely making 30 to 50 million a year from it, you're going to have trouble convincing them to go another direction.
