  1. Anyone else watch that Sleeman commercial they've been running, that says not to try this at home, and really REALLY want to try it at home?
  2. He did, but Vladdy's probably the only one capable of getting it out tonight.
  3. McCutchen knew exactly what he was doing on that. If more players did that, the shift would disappear pretty quick.
  4. This was not the day to take Manaea and Taillon in DFS...
  5. Not to mention he got the single shot Johnson and Johnson one, which isn't nearly as effective. This is also the 2nd time he's gotten Covid.
  6. They will. Both sides stopped doing things for the good of the game years ago.
  7. Clearly safe, so I'm sure they'll call him out.
  8. At this point you probably have to. It should definitely be a last resort though. Maybe MLB needs to start putting a little money away and funding new stadiums themselves. The Rays really need to be relocated too. The market just doesn't work for two MLB teams in Florida.
  9. Hilariously, it wasn't even the softest base hit of the day.
  10. This is where batters need to learn to bunt again. You need a baserunner and the Jays are basically giving one up for free. Thanks for the strikeout instead Atlanta!
  11. There was almost a 60 MPH difference between those back-to-back singles.
  12. That was the 6th hardest hit ball this year (or at least he's in sixth among unique players)
  13. Or at least partially. Require 2 infielders on each side of 2nd base and no further back than the back edge of the infield dirt when the ball is released. It certainly doesn't solve all the problems, but at least it looks better. One of the things that doesn't seem to get much mention right now is that bats are apparently much denser than they were in the past as well, and that's leading to significantly increased exit velocities in addition to the changes to the ball. Perhaps it's time to move beyond wood bats to some sort of synthetic material with fixed properties.
  14. I feel like I could throw better than that left-handed.
  15. It's pretty early in the season. Usually the bats pick up over the summer as the weather heats up and the air becomes less dense. The increasing strikeout trend is interesting though, particularly given little change in most other areas.
  16. Somehow, my risk-free lineup managed to cash beyond the guaranteed amount. DeChambeau, Schauffele, Hovland, and Whaley got some work done.
  17. That was a great matchup! I was starting to think that one move I left on the table was going to bite me. It's so much more fun when things come down to the wire.
  18. I just noticed Joe Jimenez's stats from his first two games this year. 1 IP, 5 ER, 0 Hits, 7 Walks, 2 Ks. I'm not sure I've ever seen a reliever give up 5 runs on no hits before.
  19. That's what happens when you try to play 4d chess with Kershaw and discover later you're actually playing checkers.
  20. Really tight. There's still at least 3 categories in play. There SHOULD be 2, but apparently St Louis isn't interested in shooting the puck tonight.
