  1. one of the hardest plays for a catcher Rosario did well with it. I was going to point out how forward he came on the pitchout...a batter could get an interference call by attempting to swing when he steps up to the plate.
  2. What a jackass Buck is...Morris tells a nice story about how Arenado went up to a manager he faced last year and said hello. Buck, mentions that he didn't even know Gibby's name. I'm sure he didn't mean it as a negative story but I'm also guessing that NA asked that not expecting it to reach the air.
  3. are the announcers talking about his ability to slow it down making reference to Lawrie?
  4. Zero pop, won't develop much pop either. Will hit some doubles as he's a line drive hitter. Will be interesting to see if the TJS changes his great CS rates. Hits righties and lefties pretty evenly. Average will have to carry him as he isn't going to walk enough to allow him to be a just a .250 hitter. Best comp I've heard is Ronny Paulino with better legs. I've heard Joe Girardi comps as well.
  5. How many do you think we can get to join our board? I'll happily direct them here to let them know where we are.
  6. He deals a lot so it's not all from his draft but he's got Posey, Simmons, Segura, Heyward, Trout, Matt Moore, Rosenthal, Gose, Baez, Singleton, Almora, Story, Gary Sanchez to go with some vets and is sitting in 7th place.
  7. Prior to 1983 things were different. Once Holiday came out it all changed.
  8. doesn't Espinosa scream an AA guy...2B with Power who is struggling. Returning from injury has an option or two left. At least he's good defensively but with the Nats struggles they need to stick with Rendon IMO. Luckily we are a bad fit for them as I don't think they want anything we'd give. Although their super utility (Lombardozzi) is struggling worse than Boni.
  9. Butt Stallions can't take a little B.Inge Drinking, he's going into panic mode.
  10. I keep waiting for Cardona to break out. With his lack of IP's over the development years he'll never be stretched out to be the starter I hoped he'd be (I know it's possible but I'd say more like doubtful now). Obviously you keep him a starter but I think reliever is where he ends up
  11. There is no doubt in my mind he'll look for pitching either at the deadline or off season or both. If we stay near .500 or even better get there I think he'll be a big time buyer at the deadline, I don't know what will go but I'm positive he'll be looking for a 2 year pitcher at least.
  12. did they just say that Wang gets strikeouts?
  13. Wang looks like someone I can steal off of.
  14. don't they know it's a winning streak? Father's day ... who cares.
  15. While i agree with you, just want to point out that Baltimore's pitching is almost identical to ours. I still think Gausman produces for them this year and they get Chen back. They might do just enough to keep them around.
  16. With younger guys I like to see them stick with a level for the whole year, guys like Burns and Pillar, you have to know if they have what it takes to be added to the 40 man (which doesn't really need to be decided until October 2014). You'd like to see Burns get a piece of AA this year and a full year in AAA next year. With Pillar it's more important that he keep playing as much CF as possible...which means that he should remain in New Hampshire unless Gose gets the call back to the majors.
  17. too upper body for me. I hate when you can't get info on a prospect (usually the info is out there but finding the right hit on twitter or in some paper isn't always easy). Not sure if there is an injury to him or they just want to hold him back to work on something.
  18. Amazing how baseball will believe is some programs and not other strengthening programs. Jaeger sports comes to mind
  19. probably takes a situation with a season ending injury. I think he brings in a major league ready arm without huge upside. Cinci is always an option as they have injury issues in the OF and Choo is hardly a good CF. He could move to LF and have a very good outfield of Rasmus, Choo and Bruce but they are probably happy enough plus Ludwick is under contract next year. Chances are they wouldn't make the move at this point without an injury. Mets are probably the most interested non contending club. There is a guy who just got called up to Vegas, Rafael Montero who is interesting and probably expendable as they haven't invested that much into him. As much as he's not a huge upside guy if he shows okay in Vegas...it's probably good value (and gives us another Dominican) and we might even be able to get a second player out of them. However, it's not a good optics trade for the Jays. Probably depends on where they sit at the deadline.
  20. probably depends on the players and the health of the players around them. Putting guys on the DL that don't want to go could ruin what appears to be a very improving clubhouse. Doing this with pitchers you can use days off and retroactive dates to bring it down to 2 starts missed but seeing as the knuckleball is a lot about getting into a groove I'm not sure it's for the best with him.
  21. 16-14 with him out of the lineup now...15-22 with him in it. hmmm.
  22. No but Pillar is a 364/.403/.515 vs. Lefties (I don't care about the age to level that's still screams a guy that will be able to hit lefties at all levels)...I still don't know enough about his D but he screams a great long term Gose platoon/4th OF for the Jays. We'd just have zero OF depth in minors as we have to part ways with Sierra after this season.
