someone should start the we're buyers and sellers thread as I think it's more realistic. I can see them buying someone who is around for more than just this year. I don't see them going full out pieces for prospects though.
I'm sure of it. Gose isn't even hitting righties right now but I'm sure that has something to do with them completely changing him or whatever the f*** they are doing to him. Gose getting all righties and late inning replacements works with Pillar assuming Pillar doesn't kill you defensively when he is in CF. Trade Colby and give it a try.
Best comp I can think of for him is Jeff Keppinger. If Pillar played 5 positions he'd have much more MLB value. I'd rather he go back to taking reps at 2nd and 3rd than continuing trying to make him a CF.
He's going to kill lefties even at the major league level IMO. Could replace Rajai right now and we wouldn't miss a thing. I don't think he'll hit righties at all once he reaches the show which leaves him in the same boat as so many other failed RH corner OF's without huge power.
I quite like Thole too and considering what the options were it's understandable but those that were expecting the .900 OPS Bison Thole were being set up for disappointment.
I've never been serious on these boards in my life...might want to get a sense of humour. For the record everyone that's begged me for a ban has got it. I happen to like the extremely stupid, so I'll keep you around
I really love what the Indians did in the off season and how they built this team. I'm not sure it's sustainable for a playoff run but I know between us and them which team I'd rather have moving forward.
Big difference both will be out of options after this season and will essentially be FA's if they don't make the big club by next year (which neither should or will). Pillar can remain on the 40 (and will).
Blue Jays with options (alphabetically)
Arencibia
Delabar
Drabek
Goins
Gose
Happ
Hutch
Jenkins
Jimenez
Lawrie
Lincoln
Loup
Nolin
Rasmus
Redmond
Sierra
Thole
Wagner
Weber
There are several 5 year guys with options remaining but they can refuse assignment and become FA's.
I can't see how it's good for the game. Good for the game is Braun playing baseball, rather than being suspended without concrete proof (in the media and fan's eyes).
