  1. Dickey would be so much better in this park for 16 starts. He can't get away with that high non-knuckler in the RC
  2. Cause he would have been playing in about 50 feet too much
  3. At least he didn't get hurt on the play. Now maybe that passed ball will end the personal catcher experiment.
  4. Have you watched latino ball players (thinking Machado, ManRam here)? It's usually at first base where I've seen it happen where the player doesn't go to the bag he tags instead but it's kind of this thing where if you don't need to tag you are somehow disrespecting the runner by tagging him.
  5. If the league upheld the protest (the most famous was the George Brett Pine Tar incident, which they eventually over-turned the result). They can over-turn the result (in this case take the run off of the board is an option but unlikely), replay the game from the 2nd inning, or call it a tie even (extremely unlikely). Chances are they will not uphold it...
  6. Yes...well they will review the rules on the play. I'll start a thread of protests that have changed games I know i have list in my database of baseball s***.
  7. I'm just saying that if you tag a guy on a force play it's caused brawls before. It's an over-reaction but it does happen. If Vogt saw the call he will never make the tag.
  8. Got to play this one under protest. Makes complete sense.
  9. You're a ball player...if he tags Edwin on that play when everyone thinks it's a force, it'll start a brawl at times.
  10. 2012 Laffey the team was 7-9 in his starts (three of which he gave up no runs). 2013 Redmond, Jays were 7-7 in his starts. He gave up more than three runs in just 2 of those starts and less than 3 runs in 8 starts. 2013 Redmond pitching in Happ's starts the team would likely be above .500. Right now he's getting GB's and the Velocity is up a few ticks. If the Velo drops he's got little to fall back on and I don't trust him to even be the average guy he is right now.
  11. so your assumption is that all replacement starters the Jays would have thrown out there are a huge negative value?
  12. He has a pregnant girlfriend, could be a geographical thing for him (I don't know he's a Charleston guy originally which would probably be the same distance )...probably knocked up a Florida girl though
  13. I think the point of most when they mention Randy Johnson in this scenario is...what would fans be saying about Johnson when he was 23 in AA? Shark in AA/AAA at 23? Guys like Sanchez shouldn't be dismissed at this age...nor should expectations be high.
  14. did the Jays ever have 14 players projected for over 18 fWAR on the DL at the same time? I'm not defending Daniels as he's made a lot of moves in the past two years that I didn't like...just don't think the two scenarios are similar.
  15. Noah has been so hittable of late. Pretty much since I was in Vegas. Maybe I'm the new ECJF jinx...when I go and see top 100 prospects live they stop hitting. Gary Sanchez last year went on a bad string after I saw him in Erie. Lindor the year before. They probably just missed seeing my smiling face behind home plate.
  16. I don't have a good history predicting baseball so you probably just lost $10. I do think it's a solid wager though. The fact that I didn't bet might help your cause. I like Rasmus for fanduel today too
  17. well since we are saying "if today" it would be against Detroit on the road.
  18. couldn't be a better matchup for the Jays. Over under is set at 10...it's a big number but I'd have to think the over is a good bet. 7 - 5 Jays would be my guess.
  19. Can't upset the veteran and probable all star. Buehrle will go out game one.
  20. Don't know if it was discussed but as I suggested Drabek has been moved to the pen in Buffalo. Poor early results though as he gave up runs in both of his last two outings. Only walked one...but didn't throw a good ratio.
