  1. don't get it one bit. My guess is that they know he batted .310 against RHP in Buffalo. Got to admit though a pitcher that just throws fastballs is one that Pillar could match up well against.
  2. One of the joys of managing a team with no fans...you can put in the reliever that was s*** most of the season in an important situation, without any PR backlash.
  3. Durham is worse than PCL parks for HR's and probably overall. Combine the fact that he walks so many LH hitters and it's bad combo for a guy that throws a lot of FB's. If he doesn't learn to pitch more efficiently and better to Lefties he'll probably end up in the pen though.

  5. Buck playing the crazy prediction thread with his Goins is going to get one here.
  6. it was ECJF...he is at the game and the two of them look identical.
  7. we'll have to start a thread called "being entertaining" so we finally can have a subject which he isn't an expert in.
  8. I can't believe our right handed minor league pitcher gave up a hit to a journeyman LHP specialist.
  9. It gives me the shits...I have to concentrate on getting to the can.
  10. We banned him...too many negative posts.
  11. Big John might be a gov't agency. I said it that way cause really I am old and have no clue about IP address stuff.
  12. Moogy is not Juiced. Moogy is in the states according to our data.
  13. and Chris Young hits a HR. Drew hits a double now. All with 2 out
  14. I want the Jays to make the playoffs just as much as other bad front offices like Seattle and KC (who are interesting to me as it's known that Moore is a complete idiot but he's built a team, mostly through the draft, that derives a good amount of value from defense. It might just be luck, or maybe someone who gets it is in his ear but KC is one the few teams that are up there in the standings that I could see repeating their performance next year). Yes I'll hear it if the Jays make the playoffs (something I've said all year they should be going all out for) but that's never been my contention with this front office.
  15. Davis vs. Kelly Johnson...really not much of a difference between them right now. Both are pretty bad players. Steve Pearce can't possibly come back to what he was before the injury. It's really not much of an offense. Then again the team has over-performed all year so who knows.
  16. Let's not totally clear North of ignorance too though. Totally agree this will get blown out of proportion and is nothing. O's just probably became a better playoff bet though.
  17. if they advertised it as Campbell will be hammered, then some people may have actually went. I've heard he's an entertaining drunk
  18. Marlins are set to make Stanton an offer...this should be interesting to see if this is PR or are they set to make him a legit offer.
  19. Pillar is a max effort guy that in over 500 PA's in the minors destroyed lefties and has improved his contact on righties and could BABIP his way to an acceptable numbers. I just don't think having an average runner with no power that needs balls to find holes to get his singles is worth playing full time but as I've always said he's a great 4th OF or platoon guy. What I don't think he'll do is get much better. I don't think he's going to develop power, nor is he suddenly going to increase his walk rate. Gose is also what I've always said he was (recurring theme...I'm seldom wrong) a really athletic guy that has never ever shown an ability to hit a lefty (striking out 29% of the time in the minors) and even his ability to draw a walk he's not going to instantly improve enough against them to justify him playing everyday against LHP for me. Positive base-running numbers, good D and his conscious effort to lower his K's against RHP and he will do just fine as the CF for this team. I, just think if the power does develop a little he's the kind of guy (very Colby'esk) that will forget all the stuff he's improved in and start looking for the bomb. Jarrod Dyson has become a 3 win player who couldn't hit lefties. Gose should be looking for a similar type development. Keep working on the D and the baserunning and let the Jays put you in situations where you can succeed. Pompey is the wildcard, cause i didn't get to watch minor league games this year, there is less I can tell you about him, outside of what is written. He probably is best spending the year starting in Buffalo next year regardless but I think they are better off getting him some starts this year. His D is supposedly solid so it's not like you are losing much by putting him out there. I really thought they were wating for the team to come home to get him a start...but that hasn't happened yet. They are probably too damn worried about how it will look putting him in. PS. Tercet TdA vs. JPA in 2014. How's that one going? I'll give you credit they do have almost exactly the same fWAR...just one is negative
  20. I know my 140 was good enough to win our football matchup....any idea how that stood up compared to the majority this week?
  21. Yep just do Film Fest stuff. The city has very little else on that I'm aware of...and yes that tour is extremely lame.
  22. Rogers Centre tour - http://www.rogerscentre.com/about/tours.jsp With the Film Festival going on I'm not 100% sure there is much for sports going on (couple of charity events AIDS Walk, Team Up for Sick Kids, Terry Fox Run are all on this weekend). Unless you are interested in 2nd rate junior hockey, then you can see the Jr. Canadians.
