  1. Robots aren't allowed to talk about girls and dating
  2. I do believe that one member active in this convo already did this once. We don't need that again.
  3. pretty sure his phone leak ended that relationship.
  4. Trea Turner is being severely overrated here and everywhere. First off...NC State guy, so there is knock number 1. Secondly he changes his swing every pitch (I'm only half kidding he's had about 10 different stances, and changes his hands all the time) and his bottom half may as well be doing a samba as he swings. Way too many f***ing moving parts for my liking. In the AFL he goes 5 for 5 in a game and changes his stance for the next game. Not to mention he's a butcher at short. Got wheels though, game changing speed. He'll be in Delino Jr. territory in two years. I didn't like him at the draft. Don't like him now.
  5. 100's of them, including game 1 and game last
  6. I'd pass out trying to get his blow up doll to be Lind's wife
  7. If I'm not mistaken she comes from a country that has 122 major languages...knowing 3 seems less impressive.
  8. Stro went to Duke...which makes him smarter than the entire team put together.
  9. Rizzo is the AA of the NL. He just keeps making moves without any thought of injuries to his 25 man roster. Souza was amazing depth to an oft injured OF/1B. Now they are back to hoping that Nate McLouth becomes 2013 Nate McLouth. Ross one of a bunch of guys that are in line to replace Zimmerman and Fister.
  10. Probably the smartest thing you ever said. TB - Loses because they moved sideways, not upgrading much on either Hanigan or Myers, while getting older. Added not much for upside prospects and only Burch Smith is a real wildcard here as he could breakout like he was expected by many to do before his injury. Washington loses depth. Souza could have allowed them to make a lot of different moves. I like Joe Ross a lot but he's likely a #4/5 guy that isn't going to help this season. San Diego loses, cause they are San Diego. Adding Kemp and Myers gives them some potential high end talent. But even if Kemp gets back to Kemp, and Myers gets back to Myers...they still are surrounded by s***. And the guys that a lot of the guys they have moved in these two deals...might not be s***.
  11. Don't like the end deal at all. Ott and Bauers aren't anything. Rivera had an incredible season and is projected to give huge positive value this season (especially when you consider framing) but he's 31. Souza as I mentioned is a very Rays kind of guy. Plays every position except catcher and pitcher...and has produced at every level after the age of 22. Is that toolsy guy, raw guy (Washington kid, who didn't start playing ball until he was 16, he also was considered a trouble kid) that usually teams give up on. Considering what the Rays gave up for Myers and Hanigan it's not a return that is going to wow anyone.
  12. dreams of a RKF signup now
  13. I love to do this each year...rank the seriousness of the year ending injuries for the Jays (for me there are no pitchers in the top 5). 1.Donaldson 2. Martin 3. Reyes 4. Bautista 5. EE All are currently a huge drop off to the replacement. Only reason I rank Reyes ahead of Bautista is that OF are often found mid-season. If we trade Navarro I put Martin at number 1.
  14. They said they will use "some" of the pieces they get from San Diego.
  15. Souza projected at 2 wins over 500 PA's (with negative defensive value, which is still a complete unknown). And Souza plays 6 positions. Rays love flexibility.
  16. My guess is that they are getting multiple pieces that will contribute right away.
  17. Return would have to be huge to justify that one.
  18. Time is the Jays friend at this point. No need to pay premium prices unless it's July and there is still a big need. Last year we saw some perceived bargains at the end of the off season. If the right price comes along you take it.
  19. I have these theories about highly educated front offices, deep down one of their weaknesses is that when they do meet players they are really stupid and from everything I hear Wil Myers is the stupidest one in all of baseball (and I've met many really stupid ball players). So while the numbers don't come with bias, there might be some bias when the projections are down and you just can't bring yourself to like that player. And this is the Rays...you just know Hedges is in this deal somewhere. Best defensive catcher in the minors.
  20. As I said in the Around baseball. I'm torn by the deal just because it is fair. I want the Rays to win every deal outright. They are a better team (once McGee gets back healthy anyway)
  21. A little torn by the Rays deal. 1 year of Joyce at an approximate $7M, for 2 years of Jepsen at approximately $7M. I totally understand it from the Rays view as Kiermeier is a younger, cheaper, better version of Joyce. But i hate fair value trades for the Rays.
  22. Yes if you compare it to an even more injury prone guy in Anderson. But there is a difference as Morrow didn't put up 44 really great innings in Colorado. Morrow is also 30 now (compared to 26 for Anderson). I think it's a fair deal for Morrow
  23. Traded for his depth in Bolsinger and Wieland before making the signings (and Zach Lee working on finding his out pitch again). There is a reason that Friedman's nickname is Levonorgestrel (it actually isn't but it's his most admirable quality)
  24. A Mexican Asian...it's like you and Ang had a baby.
