  1. yeah I meant to write not as large a gap as many would have thought. Moseby did have a 135 in 1983
  2. Defense and Baserunning. Although the wRC wasn't that different. 1984 Moseby was 126, 1987 Bell was 143.
  3. I was trying to figure out if Joe Carter would make my list of top 10 Blue Jays OF'ers. If I gave a look at the entire body of work with a heavier weighting towards time in Toronto ... including defense of course (so that Rickey Henderson wouldn't end up number 1 on the list based on his short tenure). 1. Jessie Barfield 2. Jose Bautista 3. Devon White 4. Lloyd Moseby 5. Shawn Green 6. Vernon Wells 7. George Bell 8. Alex Rios 9. Shannon Stewart 10. Joe Carter I really think I'm missing some.
  4. Darrell Samuels needs his due. Spanky in his drunkest night couldn't put together a list that bad even if it included Dom Dunne.
  5. You are going to mention Hentgen as an omission over Stieb, Clancy, Key and Wells over Barfield, Bautista, Moseby...but I have to ban myself?
  6. I couldn't figure out which thread to derail and I have no clue who the hell the author Darrell Samuels is...but this is worth its own thread. Your 11 greatest Toronto Blue Jays http://www.sportsbreak.com/mlb/11-best-toronto-blue-jays-ever/
  7. He's just maybe a shade better than some of the guys that are getting rejected who haven't been implicated.
  8. Were you bartending?
  9. Quick question and I probably already answered it myself but just checking Stroman's projections are: 192 IP, 185H, 18HR, 168K, 53BB for a 3.54 FIP Cobb Projections are: 192 IP, 175H, 13HR, 168K, 58BB for a 3.33 FIP Is that almost half win difference all in the park adjustments?
  10. Where Raines played has zero to do with his voting situation. His issue is the coke...pure and simple.
  11. Funny how I remember it being so much more of a rectangle than that. I knew there was some curve of the OF stands but I didn't realize that for the Argos the North side was so much closer to the field than the South Side. http://football.ballparks.com/CFL/Toronto/oldaerial.jpg Those OF seats were all the same price as it was General Admission...first come first serve. Home Openers we'd like up at 7:00 am to sit there with our $2 A&P seats.
  12. Factor of the ballot stupidity though with all these guys making a point, with only 10 names it's tough to leave anyone off for him. Only name I could leave off for him is Biggio who is one of the top 10 2B's off all time. My question is...if Walker didn't play in Coors would we be having this conversation? I don't think we would.
  13. I love Walker but he had a .278/.370/.495 line on the road. When you compare that to a non-consideration guy like Cliff Floyd who had a .278/.358/.482 line it is tough to put Walker's name on a ballot IMO.
  14. Says the guy that just posted a ballot without the greatest hitter and greatest pitcher of all-time.
  15. Stanton spending his $325M http://ll-media.tmz.com/2014/11/18/giancarlo-stanton-moet-photos-011-480w.jpg
  16. That pic made it look much better than what it was. Those 1B seats and benches looked straight across to the OF seats. Everything outside of the Southeast corner (behind the plate) was awkward to sit in.
  17. Any ballot that doesn't include Bonds, Clemens, Johnson and Pedro should be destroyed. My ballot would be those 4 Mussina Raines Edgar Martinez (how there is talk of David Ortiz as a sure fire HOF'er and Edgar gets barely 25% is unreal to me) Schilling Biggio Bagwell Sorry Larry, Sorry Trammell you just aren't cutting it on my ballot.
  18. after the stadium closed but wasn't torn down I parked in the middle of it for some event. I had a tool set in the car and got caught trying to remove a bench. Didn't get in trouble...were just told to get out.
  19. A Blue Jay with Aspergers...Matt Harvey's dreams come true.
  20. Archer and all H. Jon Benjamin projects are fantastic.
  21. Last year's Around Baseball ended December 21st. Thanks to a Spanky and Howard Roark exchange. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4-Around-Baseball/page296?highlight=baseball
  22. So much for GD's theories about people over 60 liking him. I do agree that Rafi-centric episodes are not good.
  23. Rafi: Do you still have those butt plugs with Bert and Ernie's face on them? Kevin: Those are my daughter's tubby toys. Rafi: She should not play with those. Those should be burned.
  24. Raffi takes a certain kind of person to like him...I call those people ones with a proper sense of humour.
  25. Tulo deal appears to need a 3rd and maybe even a 4th team to get done with the Mets (there is someone the Mets won't move). Only thing I can see here for the Jays is the Rockies wealth of relievers...but I don't think the Rockies are looking to add.
