  1. It might have been back in August. Wasn't worded anywhere nearly as bluntly as I said it.
  2. JD said that his teammates don't stick up for him. Happ had to do it.
  3. I also assume the non MLB prospect would be untradable if if they don't become an MLB owned property. I think it's very fair and more than the proposal I was about to make.
  4. that Happ wasn't thrown out. You could see him mouth it. It's a stupid argument after the fact
  5. a pitcher coming in without much warmup. Take advantage! There is zero reason to send that message at 90 MPH.
  6. I'm 5th in line to be in charge for the Yankees tonight now.
  7. someone on the Jays has to just say "look at the f***ing standings" we can't afford this.
  8. and I welled up all over again.
  9. Loria has already said that Jose's family will be taken care of. Assuming they consider her a spouse and the unborn child a dependent they would get his MLB 401K, and receive lifetime MLB benefits. As for the pension that would not go to anyone. I remember reading that the Angels gave Adenhart's family a full World Series share cause they would not receive any other funds.
  10. At a minimum his jersey should be in the Marlins Locker Room section of Cooperstown forever, the way Thurman Munson has for the Yankees (they actually left his spot in the actual Yankees dressing room empty as well) I don't remember a section in the Hall for players that passed away during their career but it would be a nice touch. MLB went from 1979 (Munson) to 1992 (Kile) without an active player passing away. The next 24 years I like there have been about 10. JoFez, OT, Adenhart, Lidle, Tommy Hanson, Halman, Hancock and Joe Kennedy as the ones I can remember. Was Jose Lima still in the league when he passed away?
  11. in 18 years everyone will throw 99.
  12. I'm not sure if I can even speak on the compensation end as I'm hardly objective here (although pretty fair guy). There is one player that could compensate without f***ing up someone else's current plans (we have a lottery so I suppose no one has a plan for first draft pick), that player is Otani. I would suggest #1 waiver the minute Otani is officially annouced (his insistence on coming as a two way player is really going to f*** up things for when he comes...and f*** up fantasy when it does happen) is fair. I'm good with whatever is decided and think we have to look at these in a case by case circumstance. Showing how much more of a community this group is...Fernandez was a forced keeper in my keeper Auction pool (players over a certain value when traded become forced keepers) and the league has ruled that the manager has to keep him which means that person either has to pay twice the value ($33) in real money to get out of the contract, or start next years draft with $16.50 less than everyone else.
  13. I am good with whatever you guys decide.
  14. Congrats Silvergun. I have an ace to move... too soon?
  15. Billy Butler is such a bad choice to pinch hit here. Will probably work
  16. over two years. Happens a lot with players that aren't expected to run. Posey and Lucroy haven't been caught in 3 years.
  17. Jose up to a 122 wRC+
  18. Show a replay of that swing.
  19. You have an odd opinion of elite
  20. Small sample size fear...for the first time in his career Didi has hit lefties this year.
  21. I was there to cheerlead that move for you.
  22. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v31220231/jose-fernandez-reunites-with-his-grandmother
  23. Playoff spot team...just a reminder.
