It is lost money. If he doesn't get claimed it's a horrible process for players. I know we aren't used to doing $1M favours but it happens in baseball. Again, I have no idea this is what happened but Jays have moved on and their inkling must have been that Upton would not get claimed.

At a minimum he's playing just about about everyday. Against mostly FB pitchers it's Smoak at 1B and Zeke on the bench. Against guys that throw less FB's it's Zeke in LF and Pearce at 1B. If Pearce gets hurt it's Coghlan up to face every LHP.

Veteran favour. He might have a specific place he wants to play (Detroit with his brother again?) instead of making him wait the week of a waiver process. Not saying this is what happened for certain but it is a somewhat common practice.

We are likely talking about a decision that is a 2 week decision anyway. Not a huge deal in the long run.

He's a legit prospect too (18 year old in the Sally with solid numbers) got to figure they change this up on him though.

If you honestly think it will come down to those two you should be putting money on them. Westbrook has been around 1.5 to 1 and Leoanrd is 7-1.

He's likely got a date clause where if he isn't on the big club, he's granted free agency.

It's not life changing money but it is in the hands of voters (I honestly don't even know how voting works for NBA MVP). I know I'd never put $340 into the hands of MLB voters. My advice was to let it ride or see if you can take 50% out ($205) and let the rest ride for $375

yeah a top 20 prospect for Nelson and a pick upgrade isn't so bad. If I actually kept the 11 and got Senzel I'd at least been happy about it. I don't dare look up what I gave up the 11 for.

All the talk about a zero walk week was fun...but not making innings isn't. I am currently running with 2 SP's and while I don't think that with my relievers I won't get there I don't want to effect the pool in a negative way either.
