    That is public perception of what Stroman, we have no idea internally. When a member of the Cubs F.O. came and spoke to Humber, he talked about the Epstein No D-Bag Rule and said there is probably just 1 in the org that still fit the profile and he'd probably be moved that off-season (this was after the World Series win). Someone straight up asked him if it was Baez. He laughed and said he's probably the most liked guy on the team and one of the top 3 leaders in the clubhouse (Heyward, Ross being the other two). If you search Baez and dbag there are hundreds of hits. The public really seems to dislike emotional players who seem to enjoy themselves.

    Hiura, Hader, Pina and Santiago for Stro and Teoscar. Pina gives us one of the best back up catchers in baseball (albeit already 30). Hader gives us a back of the pen guy right now or we see if he can start. Hiura is older than them but on the same arrival date as Vlad and Bichette. Santiago is project for about a 2.0 win season but coming off of 3.3. It's probably a small net loss for us in 2018 with potential to be a huge net win by 2020. It's a little bit like the deal the Pirates did for Cole (which everyone but me hated) and you couldn't do this deal unless you truly felt that there was another deal for a starter around, as we'd still have a stupid back log in the OF/DH/1B.

    I don't think it is a complete problem solver. It probably leads teams to more often hold back prospects to get a year and a half before that first arbitration and the late bloomers may never get their chance. More arbitration likely means less players sticking with their original club (I am not even sure if that is a bad thing) at free agency.

    With his agent. And snapchatted a shot of him walking to the dome. It's at least legit speculation. Coaching role it is.

    Pretty amazing that the only time he was ranked as a prospect was as the Astros 28th ranked prospect (which was in his 3rd year over North American ball). The next year he started in HiA and exhausted his prospect eligibility that next year.

    Most of the white D-Bags are retiring or retired (PieGuy, Papelbon, Lackey, Lawrie, Myers all come to mind...and ARod if you consider him white) with only Harper to carry the torch now.

    I have been with the Change the name movement since 1992 which I have told the horrible shameful story of how I ended up understanding the movement. I can assure you that there are many aboriginals who do not like the logos and names. I am now in a 90% indigenous community and I agree that 90% couldn't give a s*** or see why it's bad. 90% also don't follow politics and will never leave their community (nor do they know of the opportunities which they have here in Canada which they do not have in the States). It's all about political power and in the U.S. they have zero. They can't even get a f***ing name changed...so they certainly are not going to get the rest of what they need.

    I was there this year and the name does bring out the worst in several of it's fans, from wearing redface, to chants. With that said the name doesn't need to go...Wahoo did. I am hearing that the merchandise still might have Wahoo...which is still a step in the wrong direction.

    Fantasy wise it's 100% true. Real baseball life, having multiple players (some with pretty big ceilings too) is pretty valuable. Especially a team like the Rays who are never going to be able to get their 3+ WAR players in free agency (not that the Jays chase that either). I mean if you think Vlad and Bo are going to be Trout and Altuve, no farm is going to compare even if they have 15 50 grades. Now if they end up Sano and Trea Turner (two very nice assets that probably have not reached their peak) it's a different story.

    because that still doesn't get Santana into the lineup and it might not be an improvement on Villar. Braun is a pretty good athlete despite his age and at least has experience in the infield.

    Brewers are the 2013 Blue Jays...book it now. Giving up financial flexibility and prospects to be a team that projects 7 games behind the 2nd wildcard.

    Unless they actually have a 10% threshold (Bichette 14%, Rodgers 12% had both listed), I'd rip them for having Tatis not listed elsewhere as of all the SS listed he is by far the most awkward I've seen and has about a 3% chance of sticking. Edit: they have a 10 game rule.

    Keith Law loves pitching he has overrated pitching prospects forever. Jays have one pitcher in the minors worth a damn. So that takes a 5 spot hit in the eyes of the Law.

    I am talking about voters who informed the public that they did not vote for a certain individual citing the "Character clause". The BBWAA cherry pick certain ones...in the same way that you and I are cherry picking for our arguments. Only 2 of the 3 are pedantic f***s though.

    Yes, FG put FV grades of 60, 55 and 50 on Brinson, Harrison and Diaz (40 on Yamamoto). The top 3 are arguably top 100 prospects. I'm just not a personal fan of them but the Marlins have stocked the pond...a bit but they don't even have anyone looking like they are a big fish moving up. It's like they will have a team of average regulars for the next 5 years. Then again they weren't winning with the best OF in baseball

    I deleted my post as I shouldn't have called you a tool, it might be because I didn't state my case clearly. I'm talking about historical use of the "character clause". Ferguson Jenkins, Tim Raines voters publicly stated that they weren’t voting because of cocaine use…same voters put Paul Molitor in on a first ballot. Robbie Alomar was left off for on and off field issues (his marriage issues). Admitted sex addict Wade Boggs was a first ballot HOF though. Mays was left off of ballots citing that he used Greenies, ignoring that the Yankees injected amphetamines into Mantle. The only white player where I remember the voters throwing out the “Character clause” is Schilling. I disagree with his snub too.
