  1. I'm in my guaranteed playoff season. Bet the house on my first round playoff exit.
  2. Like all forums there are good and bad. Give us time and you'll figure out who you mesh with.
  3. If you had his team, you'd focus your energy elsewhere too.
  4. I feel bad as I would have done the deal. But honestly I check emails never these days (have 740 unread) and check here when I take a s*** or go to the can to cry. I'll forgo my last two picks and activate the two Ohtani's and I think it would be unfair to trade those picks for later ones. Best of luck everyone see you in April
  5. Lyles and Biagini (put him back in the pen) PS. I can't take a person named Laika seriously.
  6. Michael Lorenzen. Won't PM next
  7. I had like 3 when I started typing in common baseball last names and hit Gomez and Gonzalez. Hit give up when I my head started to hurt
  8. Didn't I send you my pick? I took Delgado
  9. I'm honestly happy to take Ohtani with two of my picks (f*** it I'll activate hitter Oh-Tani too). Drop Taylor Guerreri and move Maitan to my spects. Guerreri becomes eligible in this draft. Sound okay to everyone? And I only don't have internet in my home. I work 5am to 11pm everyday now so I have internet every day. Sunlight again too.
  10. I asked for a date for a cut down and requested time for that to happen. Didn't get one, so I said I would be making my moves by seasons start.
  11. seconded this proposal. Don't care if people aren't impact players I am not participating in a race for my last 4
  12. I am going in with a plan of filling position needs only. Don't care how bad my draft is...I've never had a hit in this even though I've had high spots. Every player I've taken has ended up dropped or occasionally traded.
  13. At least he brought us Scott Boras (he was Scotty's first client). Hard to believe the 5 year $8.7M deal was one of the biggest at the time for a non free agent. He also got Bobby Cox'd who believed that relievers had to throw 3 pitches. Caudill went from a 100 inning guy in Oakland K'ing almost 1 per inning...to a 70 inning guy who struck out 6 and walked 4.5. Even with those ugly numbers he managed to FIP beat a 2.99 ERA out the s***. Shoulder problems as well I suppose. Fun memories of those mid 80's teams.
  14. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/juiced-baseballs/?sf183387241=1
  15. It's not like they are playing other countries. Nor has he earned his spot. It's much more of a tribute... so I think if it meant him missing a High School game it should be his coaches decision.
  16. I will attempt to put a list together. If you haven't heard from me by Sunday night send me reminder messages.
  17. 2 for 21. Pinch ran 18 times that year. It was essentially a position.
  18. The forgotten player in the McGriff deal with the Yankees. 80 speed, never struck out, stole 60 of 74 for the Jays. Went .308/.366/.444 in a 3 win season with under 500 PA's, negative defender as the Jays played him at 1B and LF (admittedly they had Shaker in Centre). Jays trade him and Griffin for Bill Caudill because the bullpen was s***.
  19. He was one of the fastest white guys in baseball...and Curt Ford the guy that sat in the games against Viola almost never saw a PA against a LHP. Like Boxy said...the data wasn't there back then. You'll never see a guy like Lawless again who sees 350 of his 600 PA's against LHP's, career .225/.276/.278 in those PA's. The pinch runner was seen as more important than a 5th reliever.
  20. Someone probably just needs to let him know which team is his
  21. I've never actually looked at JD's college stats. He's an interesting study. Really average for the Metal bat era during his first two seasons and even struck out 3 times more than he walked. Then his Junior year he goes for 30 XBH (out of 75 hits), walks 38 times and just strikes out 27. In 2600 minor league and college PA's he had just 109 HR's then 150 in his first 2600 PA's as a pro.
  22. no verified, is that actually him, or can he just not get verified status?
  23. I went back and looked at my keeper list that I made when I first got the team and he was on it as a keeper. He's 31 now...it's probably a mistake but if it's my biggest mistake this year I'd be okay with it.
  24. Tyler Holton UCL tear as well.
  25. Eierman has started the season horribly. I know it's only 6 games but it was Lamar and Texas Southern. They scored a bunch and all he did was K. Can I end up souring on another one of my "can't miss" underclassmen
