  1. Yeah I just like that he's got a university education and is young, fat, and lovable.
  2. I'm not concerned about Murphy. He's had 1 game above A ball and even stashing him in the pen for a year in the majors seems unlikely (maybe a KC, SD, The O's or Florida could try him as a starter). Bergen's numbers were insanely good and he has so little mileage on the arm. Assuming he's got velocity (I honestly don't know much about him), he could get a role in the pen next year. Seems like he'd be a guy that someone would take a chance on in the Rule 5 too. The thing is that there are probably guys like these in every system that isn't the O's. Every year we think there are like 10 guys that will get selected and they end up not (last year people were certain that Pentecost and Rios would be selected). But maybe Buck and Tabby aren't as off on this one as I thought.
  3. Schneider being up with the big club is a good sign that they are giving him a legit look. Unless this is something that happens every year and we just never hear about it.
  4. Bichette probably is in the minors most of next year.
  5. I looked it up and there are a couple other names which might get a hard look. As mentioned Wall and Waguespack. Harris, Pentecost are the 1st round pedigree guys (although I don't see the point), Fat Hector Perez, Jordan Romano & Yennsy Diaz.
  6. Buck and Tabby: Jays have a roster crunch. 39 up...and 10 to 12 they have to promote. I count 2. Wall and maybe Waguespack
  7. It's interesting (cool) but I wouldn't pay for it. My friend stays there for all of his work trips and they gave him a field view upgrade. There are two uncomfortable bar chairs where you watch through the open window...but those are the only two that can see out the open window (a nice comfy chair you could see out the closed window). I would say it's best for 2 people not the 4 they advertise. We were in the very last room with a view (right field foul pole) and there are seats right in front of you. They were empty of course (as was the entire section in front of us) but it would be a little weird IMO if it were a full house. Much like being in a box, when there is an interesting play you get the 7 second delay and watch it closer on TV. Was nice to have 8 tall boys and not have it run us up over $100, not to mention we got our brands of choice.
  8. First game watching from the hotel (so I was very drunk for the 9th). I love this Jays front office but wanted the Rays to have some meaningful games down the stretch. Shame but a good game for the Young Jays to have.
  9. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (F) Montreal
  10. ... 🙋
  11. This article is about a guy I played Ultimate with. Crazy stuff. https://grandstandcentral.com/what-its-like-wagering-400k-on-esports-f93dc2afd427
  12. It's my inner boxy looking to move up in the waiver draft next year
  13. So what is Dinger's penalty for an illegal add...bottom of the waiver 1st round next year seems fair?
  14. I have 2 guys on my list to pick at 6. If they aren't there I'll be trading the pick.
  15. I will be cutting Jon Gillies (G - CGY) Justin Bailey (F - BUF) Blake Speers (F - NJD) Jayce Hawryluk (F - FLA) And foregoing picks 69, 71 & 72
  16. For the 2nd time...I think the only team to do so in the 2 wildcard era.
  17. I'd also like to add that $120k that he was offered is not the norm for a baseball head office job. The Dodgers might be the only ones paying that for an Analyst. That same person was offered minimum wage by another MLB front office.
  18. When I work sporting events (multi-sport games) the office part of the job isn't really that much different than when I was in the financial industry. It's still emails, meetings, spreadsheets and calendars. But the people you work with are the difference ... they also love sport. Makes for a much better work environment at work and after work. There is also the end game where you get a chance to see the sports take place. I think working in baseball would be cool because it's probably a great group of people who love baseball as much as you do. With that I've still never pursued professional sports as a career as I know it can be a really stupid, underpaid grind.
  19. If you are starting at the salary he was offered at Apple...got to figure there is great growth potential there too. He could tell you a bit about crazy living expenses in Northern CA though. It's a much more fun debate to have (believe I ripped him for his decision) when it isn't you making the decision.
  20. They are still really low on Kevin Smith (45 FV) and Cavan (40+). Nice to see the worst team in Baseball doesn't have anyone in the top 100.
  21. There is a final going on...have some respect!
  22. Just found out about them this morning. I'm not sure.
  23. He will be listening to the Podcast. It is a former member the BJMB universe. Offered $125k job as a Senior Analyst with the LA Dodgers in the same week he was offered a job in Cupertino with Apple. No life details needed. Tell how he made a terrible decision!
  24. How about a discussion on $120k a year offer from the LA Dodgers to work in their head office vs. $225k from Apple?
  25. Challenge trade?
