  1. I read that he was from ND but didn't know he was a Jamestown guy originally (doesn't show that in his baseballcube page) that's cool. P.S. Shouldn't you be at the Curling right now?

  3. I do from a business sie. You don't lead the league in attendance and trade your star in a non-baseball city. From a baseball side I probably move him two off seasons ago. Now they have sucked for two years and they have effectively put the Jays casuals on the Baby Jays bandwagon. Now is the time to trade the popular players
  4. If a team is in a competitive division and dips below 90 wins, Jim believes they should tear it down and trade for 20 year olds.
  5. I think that is kind of the point for the Cards. Molina is 37 and several of their players hit FA (or big money options) in 2021. They have a 2 year window to make the playoffs. They probably have more injury risk than anyone, but they will probably be projected into a playoff spot. Plus it gives Knizner a year working with Molina and the big league pitchers to see if he has what it takes to be a big league catcher (Everything I just said about Varsho is true of Knizner, but he's 23 instead of 20)
  6. and trading for Kelly likely allows for that. I think his athleticism and bat will be always be beyond his timelines of a catcher. Have you ever heard of a catcher who's legs are miles ahead of his arm.
  7. Miroglio is less than a year younger than Kelly and has 2 year sample behind him. He's still a work in progress, even though his ability to call a game hasn't been questioned. Varsho is all bat still. He can't throw and he still hasn't made it to AA ball. He's probably 3 away as a catcher at best and that's if the numbers aren't a factor of Recreation Park
  8. I've quickly come around to like this return. All MLB ready pieces. With one having top ten in their position upside.
  9. I have a lot of trouble believing in Luke Weaver as a legit starter...so yes s*** return. With that said Carson Kelly is a starting catcher right now with an upside bat. Give it 5 years and he's the best catcher in the history of the franchise.
  10. whoo hoo. Yay me. Activating him. Anyone else on my farm playing?
  11. todd's list is top 150
  12. 119 wRC+ in his minor league career though. it's not like he's a guy that has never shown anything...just not since he turned 20
  13. and S'ua as their mental skills coach. Two fantastic moves.
  14. Even though he is spending his off-season calling out your boy Bregman? Only thing he has wrote that I didn't like is saying "I was better than Kluber last year" I understand the honesty of the statement but leave your own teammates out of it. Between his hatred and refusal to take long term contracts he'll end up the most interesting free agent ever. Bauer talking about him and Bregman's back and forth also right after Perez talked about how Bauer's Twitter posts are a non issue in the clubhouse as they are entertained too
  15. People are s***ing on Santana pretty badly but his numbers last year weren't that bad. He's always been a low BABIP guy but he tried to beat the shift more last year (the lowest pull% of his career) and it was the lowest BABIP of his career. He has an ability to put the bat on the baseball...last year he swung at way more pitches but his k-rate went down. Seems like he'll be one of the easier fixes out there.
  16. Hopefully now that it has been purchased by the core four it will return to it's roots. And of course... More Sayre!!!!
  17. I volunteered while in school at a Sport Program in St. Jacobs I looked up if there was ever a Mennonite athlete. Turns out there have been plenty but I remembered Heisey for some reason. Plus I know so many useless facts
  18. That makes sense. I was factually incorrect as I'm pretty sure Chris Heisey is a Mennonite as well. I assumed I was talking about him but AA didn't acquire him until 2015. It was bothering me and I was too lazy to look it up.
  19. This was in my Facebook memories from 5 years ago. I have zero clue who I was talking about. Can anyone help me?
  20. One of these guys has a shot of a long term major league job.
  21. Do they have dozens of follower?
  22. Can we get the best clips from the conversation (you saying you would vote him for Cy) and John saying he has a standing invite to get on the show. I will help bombard him with requests. At a minimum it will triple the social media following of the podcast and then maybe Nick will be less embarrassed to be on. That was the other missed comment. After saying your dozens of followers and John said "should that be plural" I was yelling please Boxy just say "dozens of follower would just be stupid"
  23. Currently this area is the Oracle Arena and O Co plus about 20,000 parking spots. Oakland has so little parkland. The Oracle is being repurposed as a concert venue...the rest is parkland a tech university and residential/shopping. The repurposing of O Co (which will be a bookable park for cultural festivals, charitable softball games and meant to inspire future baseball generations) will be paid for by the developers. In Toronto it would be a massive waste of space...in Oakland it would probably remain as rubble after destroyed. I don't think it will age well and if the neighbourhood works, it will likely become housing anyway.
  24. For the record I really do like the Paxton and Morrow comp. Although trading Morrow after 2011 or even 2012 would have probably drawn a lot of heat. The other one was you saying that the Rays had good defense and I was going to say it was a bottom 5 defense but it was actually so improved in the second half that it was upper middle.
  25. I found it. You assumed he doesn't understand. You are assuming all hispanic players don't speak English
