First of all $3.6M is still an okay savings (and is the job of the front office). The free'd up spot is still something. Also the appearance that you will do the right thing for veteran players is still something. There is so much more than just the return itself.

They are starting planning on re-doing the inside of the stadium. Judging by what was done in Cleveland; the Carter Homerun will be part of that. I don't want to see a bunch of statues around the outside though. Plus I like group statues. Have WAMCO instead of Carter on his own. Then Moseby, Barfield and Bell (one of the top 20 OF's of all time and the Jays best). Stieb and his ego, Bautista and his bat flip, Donaldson and his refusing to do his rehab. So many potential memories. But put them around the stadium. We've seen concrete walls for too long.
