  1. And ruin this fun guess the poster game?
  2. Maybe he meant you were pasty and bland...not your teams.
  3. Can we get Scherzer's name spelled correctly on the spreadsheet please. It's been driving me crazy for 10 days now.
  4. Really was above average with the bat in the second half last year. Don't know if he made any fundamental change...but if can improve a bit with the bat and keep up with the defense he's a solid asset
  5. Marlins supposedly asked for a similar package to what the Indians asked the Reds for Kluber, but now have it down to India, Stephenson and a pitcher for Realmuto.
  6. Jays are projected to have one of the worst pens in baseball...yet now with Barnes gone I struggle with finding DFA candidates on the RP list. OF next for sure.
  7. Phillies over under and Harper props still up on every page I have...Phils are heavy faves to land him by the wagers though. With that said I think it's happening.
  8. Different time and era. When Pujols or even Miggy were coming up their games weren't on TV, you had to buy prospect videos. Even getting stats was difficult and sometimes not up to date (It's just back to the old board days that I remember minorleaguecentral as the only site updating minor league stats daily). So the hype is different. Prospects weren't talked about daily it was at certain times of the year (when the BA list would hit, at draft time and in September). I would say that Vlad is the most hyped up top prospect ever who wasn't on a major league contract. And his bat appears to play with the best.
  9. Reds are a Realmuto trade away from becoming the 2013 Blue Jays. They have already added $20M in payroll and are projected to a .500 team and 3rd in the division (projections hate the Brewers). Adding Realmuto would add a couple wins, so unless they plan to pair this with some real payroll busting moves (Kuechel, Kimbrel and a couple the other relievers could help) just to get them up in that Cubs/Cards projection range.

  11. Crusty, old and uninteresting?
  12. I just want to see really smart people in on the creation process. Boras advised on the last one and would honestly say “this is the way we are going to manipulate that, and this is the way the teams are going to manipulate”. Get some of those brainiacs in Tampa or Oakland talking honestly about loopholes they see. You will never have a perfect system but minimize the loopholes. If I were the PA, I’d be shooting for removing 1 year of control (down to 5 seasons) and keeping 3 years of arbitration (no super 2). Keep the current manipulation BS, and 1 season still equals 171 days. The owners biggest concerns have been 40% alleviated by Fox handing them a 7 year contract extension (ESPN and Turner Sports still end in 2021 and Dazn is 2022). Owners are never just going to bend over, but too much has been in their favour for too long.
  13. BTS, KingHammer (recent board signup) has shown interest if a board league spot opens up. I have contact with him outside the board and he's friends with TheBadGuy. Just putting this here because I will forget.
  14. That was one of the guys I was considering trading up to get.
  15. We should do a change.org to get their page shut down.
  16. A 10 season career is not nothing though. With 2 of those seasons being really good. The rest ranging from average to bad. I feel like he's a guy that that could thrive in the right situation (he could hit fastballs)
  17. For anyone who wants a quick list of the historical top 100's I have a Google Doc with all of 1990 to 2010 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1L1H_USzTBUu5Hloc45vJV3-LTX5vfr-les_DSszC_gs/edit?hl=en&hl=en#gid=1
  18. I loved the 10 day for hitters though. I'd like to see a 15 day for pitchers and 10 day for hitters.
  19. Because Vlad has more risk.
  20. BA has certainly changed the way they do their lists over the years. There used to be a progression to their lists. Vlad Guerrero Sr. debuted at #85 as a 18 or 19 year old. Then progressed. By the time he hit top 10 he had already debuted in the majors. I'm sure most of the team there figured Vlad would have a better career than number 25 Josh Booty, but it was the way they did the rankings. If you had an 18 year old on the list you knew they were somewhat special. The top picks in the draft almost always had a specific range they would debut at as well. The lists wouldn't be updated until the next year and sometimes early debuts caused them to never even get to the top 5. Now you have mid-season lists, monthly updates, chats, podcasts and subscriptions to sell. You have to do what is best for business.
  21. DL length will probably go back to 15 days. The 10 day stints were too easy to manipulate and pitchers days on the DL increased rather than decreased. It also probably led to more fresh pitchers and even lower runs scored (Thanks Rays)
  22. I wasn't joking I have dumps bigger than Cooperstown.
  23. It forwarded me to a petition against the OSAP cuts so something good happened.
  24. Carter had his one shot at the VC list and that was this year. He won't get another chance.
